What were Micromaster?
I was wonder what show were the micromaster series of toys supposed to fit into and were they fore fathers of the mincons, and How many different ones were there.

gazillions.
they came in fourpacks
they also had "linkeable" bases (you could connect different bases etc.)
some could combine together (much like the cybertron series) to become a construction vehicle or something. or connect them to another vehcile to turn your yet into a driving gun turret.
you'd have a pack of racecars, jetfighters, tanks etc.
the transformations were pretty simple, flap legs down arms out and maybe, if you're lucky.. you had to to something for the head or you were able to fold a wing here or there.
Sturdy buggers they were too, even in my active time of playing with them, I only snapped one arm of the dozen+ micromasters I had.

Micromasters came out when the Micro Machine toys were becoming very popular.
Here is a list

Mind you there are a lot of Japanese ones (they have Destron and Cybertron names instead of Autobot and Decepticon) mixed in this list.
Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

Wow so they were kind of like mincons except that they could link together to make bigger transformers.

Only some. Others are just grouped together because they are similar type vehicles so they are on a 'team' together.
They made it in the G1 US Marvel comic as well. Dreamwave also took a shot at them in a miniseries, when they had the license.
As for Micromasters and Minicons being related, you might say so, others might say, that part of the canon has not really been covered, but the collector's club has drawn their own conclusions in which I believe they are related.
