Okay, so let's try a little something different. There are about a bazillion "what is your favorite Beast Wars Toys, Whose the best Beast Wars toy, ect. So I changed the Title and have decided to try a little game:

Rate your Absolute Favorite Beast Wars Figure!

the criteria is simple, by emoticon thumbs up, tell us how you rate your favorite Beast Wars Toy, and it can be as obscure or unpopular and from any beast wars series you like, no one here will judge! This is your chance to tell all about you favorite figure and why he's the best. After your done with your favorite, post another review, bad or good, you choose!! this will be fun to see what we all think about our beast Wars toys, and how they stack up!! Have fun with it, that's what this is all about, enjoyment of our collections.

I'll kick it off:

"Big Convoy"

How did you get your favorite Beast Wars Toy?I bought mine on ebay, at a very cool $35.00 plus 10.00 shipping.

Rate your Bot: 1 ;)^ is poor and 5 ;)^ is the Best ever!!

1. Likeness to cartoon or Media: Big Convoy is very much a perfect example of his cartoon persona, his paint applications and design are right on the money ;)^;)^;)^;)^;)^

2. Posability: Very posable, and articulated, he does have a few issues, namely the upper arms but it was mainly a transformation error, but none that detract from the overall figure so I rate him ;)^;)^;)^;)^

3. Transformation: Awesome!! he's one of the more difficult to transform, so I have to be very slow at doing it, but he's a mammoth so what do you expect!! I like it that way anyways, for me the more complex the better!;)^;)^;)^;)^;)^

4. Packaging: Well I bought the Korean boxed version as alot of other people I know did as well, the box was fantastic, and large, sturdy with full color pictures of the bot on all sides. The inner Trey comes out and has a clear lid with the figure securely in a molded tray beneath. easy to open, take out, easy to replace and store!;)^;)^;)^;)^;)^

5. Best feature: I love the removable Matrix and the Matrix Buster canon, plus he's loaded to the teeth!! but the Matrix canon, and his clear plastic chest is very cool.;)^;)^;)^;)^;)^

overall score: 24 Points!

Would you recommend this toy? Hell F-ing Yeah!!!

I have to say my absolute Favorite Beast Wars Figure is Pretty obvious, but if I have to have a secondary it would more then likely be my good old stand by and next favorite bot, Optimus Primal! He's just the Best.

Many people may think this one's an odd choice at first, but mine is and always shall be Razorbeast.

That's because Razorbeast was my first ever Transformer. :( Sadly, its MIA, but someday I plan to get another one to replace it.

Transmetal Optimus Primal and Cheetor.

I don't like Optimal Optimus's colours.

" Robot Masters Lio Convoy"

How did you get your favorite Beast Wars Toy?I bought this one at the SDCC comic con from a vender Last year for $25.00!!

Rate your Bot: 1 ;)^ is poor and 5 ;)^ is the Best ever!!

1. Likeness to cartoon or Media: Lio Convoy is very much a perfect example of his cartoon persona, his paint applications and design are right on the money, this version corrected alot of issues that the large Voyager class version had. Plus I believe this version also worked out some molding issues and made his Lion face look even more like the cartoon version ;)^;)^;)^;)^;)^

2. Posability: Very posable, and articulated, one of the best toys I have ever seen. The chest area is kinda bent forwards though, I wish he could have a posable chest top area for a more dynamic look when in an action pose, that detracts 2 thumbs so he only gets a 3 there ;)^;)^;)^

3. Transformation: Good, he's kinda easy to transform, but the legs in the back are kind of obvious, i just wish they would have come up with a better way to hide the robotic joints in the knee area that gets a 3 as well ;)^;)^;)^

4. Packaging: Very cool, it's the standard Robot Masters box, so it's got a clear plastic window, with a cool face picture on the front, and detailed images of the toy on the back, twistie ties bring the score to a 2 though ^;)^;)^

5. Best feature: just his likeness is the best feature in my opinion, and maybe the additional guns in his altmode, I mean come on, it's a freaking white lion with golden guns sticking out of his mane, very cool!! ;)^;)^;)^;)^;)^

overall score: 18 Points!

Would you recommend this toy? If you like Lio Convoy I say get him, he has some issues, but overall a good toy !!!

That's funny, I was about to hit reply and post Razorbeast, thinking no one else would. That little guy is awesome. Rattrap is pretty good too I think.

Big Convoy and Razorbeast for me, the only down side i have is with razor beast, has some hard time sstanding up, pretty back heavy.

I agree and he is quite a kickass Transformer as well.... nice choice. It's refreshing to see people who have obscure beast bots as their favs....and as far as the mini ratings of your favorites... :-?
Ok, I'll play!!!

" Optimus Primal Reborn"

How did you get your favorite Beast Wars Toy? I ordered him online from Toys R Us for chump change...

Rate your Bot: 1 ;)^ is poor and 5 ;)^ is the Best ever!!

1. Likeness to cartoon or Media: Optimus Prime Reborn, is in my opinion, the single best representation of his cartoon format that has ever been produced to date. period end of story! I'm giving that a 5....
;)^;)^;)^;)^;)^

2. Posability: Very posable, and articulated, one of the best toys I have ever seen. again 5....
;)^;)^;)^;)^;)^

3. Transformation: excellent!! 5.....
;)^;)^;)^;)^;)^

4. Packaging: Meh!! Bleeeeaeechk!! Lots of Twistie ties, window boxed and easily crushed, not good for storage or to Keep MISB, unless your very careful...AI give it a 1..
;)^

5. Best feature: The freaking Face!! that looks soo much better then the original release, the colors and the chest plate are all accurate. Guns, Missile shoulder launchers, and tons of articualtion, this guy has it all...
;)^;)^;)^;)^;)^

Image

overall score: 21 Points! A Great toy ;)^

Would you recommend this toy? Yes, as a definitive collector of beast Wars, This guy is it, get him, but don't overpay for the Japanese Takara Version, it's not really worth the extra 60 bones you'd shell out to get them in just a different Box..he's the Big Bot!!!

"TM2 Megatron"

How did you get your favorite Beast Wars Toy?
Oddly enough I bought it from an everyday Toy Store only 2 years ago, it was MISB. The toy store was in a sleepy little coastal town near Batemans Bay NSW. My gf's grandparents live down there, so I want to head back and get another.

Rate your Bot: 1 ;)^ is poor and 5 ;)^ is the Best ever!!

1. Likeness to cartoon or Media:
Pretty much smack bang on, bar the little cockpit majiggy.
;)^;)^;)^;)^

2. Posability:
Very unhindered, pose away!
;)^;)^;)^;)^;)^

3. Transformation:
Far too complex for a kiddies toy, but sure as hell alot of fun.
;)^;)^;)^;)^;)^

4. Packaging:
I loved the Beast Wars packaging, it was both colourful, eye catching and well designed. The packaging pretty much showed TM2 Megatron in the best light (which is any light for this figure), and the pose inside the box is perfect for him too.
;)^;)^;)^;)^;)^

5. Best feature:
While the flip out wings are cool, and his rolling wheels are fun, nothing can beat his "talking" gimmick. Getting TM2 Megatron to sing along with music is still one of my favourite things to do when I'm bored. Anything from the BeeGees to Pearl Jam.
;)^;)^;)^;)^;)^

overall score:
24 ;)^

Would you recommend this toy?
Yes. Yes I would. Not only is he required for the show cast, but he deserves to be owned by any fan of Beastformers.
Awesomesauce; Use it, you know you want to.

Motto: "Chaos... is coming!..."
I can't help but think some of these questions could be used for the interview deal that Counterpunch is trying to get off the ground. Oh, for me, I like the Primal/Megs BWR 2 pack the best. I just got in Takara's Rattrap and he's really cool too. Razorbeast is also really nice. Come to think of it, all the Megatrons are really cool figures too.

I disagree, only because what Maximal Primal is doing here is geared towards "Just" Beast Wars and rating them as toys, or naming your favorite, and discussing things inherent to that specific toy, I. E. known Issues, faulty weapons, springs, ect... Counterpunch's Thread is about interviewing a member of this board and asking them questions that encompasses collecting in general...this is Beast Wars specific, and not an interview, rather your ratings of Beastformers you own.

Flux Convoy wrote:Oh, for me, I like the Primal/Megs BWR 2 pack the best. I just got in Takara's Rattrap and he's really cool too. Razorbeast is also really nice. Come to think of it, all the Megatrons are really cool figures too.
:BOT:

I too love the Beast Wars Reborn 2-Pack, that Optimus Primal is the single baddassed representation to date of my favorite hero from the first Beast Wars saga! Yeah, pretty much all the Megatron's are awesome!! Razorbeast is da Bomb diggity!!

for this review, i have to put in a plug for another of my favorites, and that would be Cohrada!!

" TM-07 Cohrada "

How did you get your favorite Beast Wars Toy? I ordered him online from Hobby Link Japan! It was part of the biggest shippment I have ever done, I ordered 9 Figures total!!

Rate your Bot: 1 ;)^ is poor and 5 ;)^ is the Best ever!!

1. Likeness to cartoon or Media: I'm not really that sure what Cohrada looked like in the Beast Wars neo cartoon, but from what I've seen of the art work of him, the toy comes in pretty close, the paint applications are exceptional, and I really love the face sculpt.....He's a definite Five!
;)^;)^;)^;)^;)^

2. Posability: Oh my god!! this guy is probably more posable then a Marvel Legends toy!! It's the most articulated Beast Wars figure I have ever owned, and on top of that, he's got really good joints so he's not all loose and stuff, he holds poses very well, another Five!
;)^;)^;)^;)^;)^

3. Transformation: Pretty easy which is not a high point for me, but then again this is Beast Wars and not a regular Transformers series, there are limits design wise to what you can and cannot do with an organic body before it looks stupid, so....Four for this category.....
;)^;)^;)^;)^

4. Packaging: Awesome!!! very colorful, artwork is top notch, there's a DVD attached, and there are only 4 twisties total!! I'll have to give this a Three though.....
;)^;)^;)^

5. Best feature: The snake arm, It's priceless!! You can almost feel as if he is about to whip someone's butt in gear!! Plus the fact that with the Gi-Joe toys, I can make him a Robotic snake under Cobra Commander's control!! Would you believe that he's a good guy in Beast Wars Neo???
;)^;)^;)^;)^;)^

Image

overall score: 22 Points! A Great toy ;)^

Would you recommend this toy? Yes, I think I would, in actuality, I would recommend all the Beast Wars toys that are out, But for this guy... the playability and cool nature of his design is reason enough to get him...plus he's got a cool name, say it proud, say it out loud, COHRADA!!!!!

Re: Rate Your absolute Favorite Beast Wars Figure! Rate some more!

Postby Alex Kingdom » Fri Sep 14, 2007 7:43 am

Well this isn’t a Beast Wars toy, it wasn’t even released as part of Beast Machines although it should have been but it is by far my favourite Beast Era figure

"Air Attack Optimus Primal"

How did you get your favourite Beast Wars Toy? It was a total pain in the arse to get. After watching the Beast Machines series and absolutely loving it this figure became a bit of a grail for me. I ended up having to buy him as part of a set including him and 20th Anniversary Prime from an eBay seller in the US. No only did I have to sell the 20th Anni Prime after to recoup some of the money I also got stung by customs and broke down on my way to collect the parcel from the depot. However it was all worth it (and 20th Prime went for more than I expected and to a yank!)

Rate your Bot: 1 ;)^ is poor and 5 ;)^ is the Best ever!!

1. Likeness to cartoon or Media: About as perfect as he could hope to be. Sure there are a few parts of the beast mode present in the robot mode that shouldn't be, most notable the gorilla arse behind his head, But over all in both modes he looks and SOUNDS like the character from the show (I'll get onto that later)
;)^;)^;)^;)^

2. Posability: Good posablitly, I'd have appreciated a little more articulation in the feet/ankles as it makes his a little difficult to pose in robot mode, but overall you can pull off some amazing posses in both modes. Plus this figure was (to the best of my knowledge) the first to have individually articulated fingers!
;)^;)^;)^;)^

3. Transformation: Great, not to complex with lots of clever touches. There are some part I think could have been done better, like the aformentioned arse, but he holds together well in both modes and for me that's the most important part of any transformation.
;)^;)^;)^;)^

4. Packaging: Huge front and top windowed box with hole to 'try me' on the light and sound features. Although from the Beast Machines series this figures was released during Robots in Disguise and so feature no show art work or mention of Beast Machines. Not an issue but his box looses points from me for that !
;)^;)^;)^

5. Best feature: Other than the fact he’s a show accurate rendition of BM Optimus Primal a design and character I absolutely love it has to be the sound. They really went to town on this figure giving him a complex and show accurate sound system. In addition to some grunts and groans for his gorilla mode his jet pack sound alters as he is tilted and turned as if the jets are compensating for a change in direction, his spring loaded 'punch' arm triggers a grunt and best of all he features a number of phrases from the BM show voice by Gary Chalk AKA Optimus Primal himself. Flawless.
;)^;)^;)^;)^;)^

overall score: 20 Points.

Would you recommend this toy? Of course I bloody would, especially to fans of the Beast Machines series.

Yours AK

wow that was a nice rating of Air Attack Optimus Primal! I was very interested in Purchasing him back when the whole RID toys were going strong, but then I Was totally about Marvel Legends and not really back into Transformers.. which I completely regret to this very day!! I was still sitting on the fence about that particular toy, until I saw that Gary Chalk's voice in in the actual Bot!! Priceless!! If only they could have incorporated Peter Cullen's Voice into Movie Leader Prime, or the Masterpiece Prime.. oh well.. a topic for another time I suppose..

Still I like the fact that he's a huge bot with a kickass likeness to the TV show.. Kudos to you on your review I may buy it, but I'm kinda put off by the Butt behind the head, which leaves it open to too many jokes...

Ultra Optimus Primal.

I will always love him the most, becasue my mom got him for me, and I was searching DESPERATELY for him when I was little. Plus, he just kicks all kinds of ass.

Hell, missiles come out of his ASS.

Plus, his cartoon character was better than G1 Prime. Yeah. I said it.

Dem's ah Fightin' words where I come from Boy!! Geewuners come out of the wood work and wonder why Eradicator can say that with avatars and sigs of Optimus Pime.

Just kidding, but yeah I agree, Beast Wars Optimal Optimus, was he shizznick! for hose who don't know here's the skinny on him form Wikipedia:

"* Ultra Optimus Primal (1996)

Primal's original gorilla body, loaded with hidden weapons and special gimmicks. The toy features a set of spring-loaded cannons which flip up over its shoulders and fire rockets, spares of which can be stored in compartments behind the head, or loaded into the second double-barreled launcher, which flips out of the left forearm. The other forearms contains a compartment with a flail weapon, and features other melee weapons in the form of two curved swords, which store in its back. There is a switch on the figures back which activates the movement of his arms - depending on the position of a sliding switches on either arm, Primal can either beat his chest gorilla-style, or spin his forearms for combat with his weaponry. The figure was the largest individual Maximal toy released in the pre-transmetal era. Because the animators made changes to the model, it was not totally accurate to the animated series - in addition to a "battle mask" and the lack of his mouth-slit (leaving him with a face looking much more like the original Optimus Prime), the toy was much larger compared to the other Beast Wars figures than Primal was in the show. This toy was sold under the name Optimus Primal Black Jack in Europe.

A transparent "Clear Convoy" redeco of this figure was released in Japan in 1997, and a flaming red-and-orange redeco was released as part of Beast Wars II in 1998 to represent his "Burning Convoy" form from the animated film. "

As much as I like Optimus Primal, as a character, I must admit, I'm more inclined to be fascinated by accurate likeness over gimmicks, and although Ultra Optimus Primal is pretty cool and loaded to the teeth, I'm Just not interested in him. I much prefer the 10th Reborn Version as my favorite..

" TM-06 Black Arachnia"

How did you get your favorite Beast Wars Toy? I ordered this one online from Hobby Link Japan, it was part of my aforementioned "9 all at once" figures I ordered from them ...

Rate your Bot: 1 ;)^ is poor and 5 ;)^ is the Best ever!!

1. Likeness to cartoon or Media: Here is where this issue arrives for me.. she's kind of a big girl in the toy format, I just don't understand why she couldn't have been made to be a little more sleek in design, and the head is just horrible!! The repaint from the original is good, but the chest is kinda big but flat, and it could have been more angled, like in the show, I think that with this particular toy, the Altmode had more emphasis then the botmode which made it suffer heavily for it.
;)^ (one thumb for paint applications and Altmode accuracy)

2. Posability: Very posable, and articulated.... nothing special, I would have thought we could have seen some articulation in other areas, like the waist, and the Altmode legs..so this just gets a 2, it could have been alot better...
;)^;)^

3. Transformation: fairly routine, again could hav been alot better..... so a 2 for me on that..as well
;)^;)^

4. Packaging: great just like the other reissue releases, full color, images of the toys on the back, the complimentary DVD, it's nice, 3 Twisties so a little easier to remove.. overall..I'd say it's a 4
;)^;)^;)^;)^

5. Best feature: Not really anything to worth mentioning I'm afraid, this just wasn't a cool enough figure for me to gt inline on liking all that much. I guess you could say the legs, but that's not enough..I guess it's nice to have the whole cast..I'll give her a 1, but I'm disappointed fo Sho!!
;)^

overall score: 10 Points..not a bad toy, but not all that great either..

Would you recommend this toy? Yes, as a collector it should be picked up, but as far as being excited about recommending it, no..sh doesn't have the female curves and likeness as in the TV show, if they ever released a better version, with an actual face, then I'd gt it. but it's not one of my favorites for any other reason then to just complete the reissues collection..

I too agree, that Blackarachnia was a lackluster addition to the Beast Wars toy line up. Takara Tomy had the resources to reissue her in a better sculpt. But they didn't so, oh well. I stil have a soft spot for her, yet I wonder why they gave her dimpled breasts? I assume it had something to do with her altmode.

They shoud have given her breasts that were pointy and smooth, and then made them swivel into her chest cavity apon transformation, that would have worked, IMO. Ofcourse had they made a sexy Blackarachnia toy, I don't thin I'd ever stop staring at it!
