Keep Leader Brawl or get Leader Optimus instead?
I'm kind of torn here. I really wanted Leader Brawl when he was first released and got him weeks ago before a lot of people had gotten him and had a chance to comment. Well mine's still in the box-haven't had time to unpack him yet-and I'm thinking seriously about taking him back now. There's just been so much negative feedback about him that I just feel like I'm going to be disappointed and frustrated when I unpack him. Plus, with all of the Leader Brawls out there, I can’t believe that there’s not going to be some point where he’s a big time shelf warmer and goes on sale. I’d feel better about owning him for 20-30 dollars versus 40. But my biggest argument is that I’m leaning towards returning him and getting a Leader Prime instead. He just seems to be the more popular choice as far as the Leaders are concerned. I know this is all subjective so people will have differing opinions but what is the general feeling here about Leader Prime versus Leader Brawl? If you could only own one, which would you choose?

Prime hands down.
I just recently acquired Leader Class Brawl and am using as my movie Megatron. He's a great figure and improvement to the deluxe version. But Prime is just a much more snazzier TF compared to Brawl.

IMO, not even close...Prime all the way. I was kinda disappointed with Brawl after seeing a lot of reviews saying he was nearly as good as Prime, but I guess either way, I've yet to see a review actually say Brawl is better.

Prime's better. The only reason I like my leader Brawl is because he stands head to head with Prime. I don't think he's an astounding figure, either in his mold or his quality.
But at one point I had 4 leader Primes, and they were all quality products.

Bikertrashwolf has a new review out on him on Youtube. Initially I was considering if I should buy another one to take out of box. After watching that review I am for sure.

Brawl is great. Prime is great. Really.. it's whichever one your prefer. Just because someone doesn't like a figure, doesn't mean you will not like it as well.

I havnt seen Brawl in the flesh yet, but Im not impressed wit hthe fact that he seems to have some compromises that the smaller deluxe didnt seem to need.
Prime on the other hand is fantastic.

You should get Prime much better figure than Leader Brawl, I own both. Each cost me about 27.00 each.. So if you can find them for that price get both.. But Prime all the way, if you cant..

i went to target tonight and they had about 4 leader brawls and 1 megatron. the first and last optimus i saw was mine that i picked up at the same target a week or two back. That same day my brother got brawl, between the two i would still pick optimus but brawl is still an amazing figure. so if you can choose and can only get one, id go with optimus and wait for brawl, he'll be around for a while i'm thinking.

Mabey they made a leader version of Brawl to make up for his lack of exposure in the movie.

I've just watched several youtube clips of his transformation. The transformation doesn't seem that bad but I just think I keep getting hung up on his lower half. I really dislike that his feet are fixed limiting posability and that his legs have so much kibble on the backs. I also really wish they had done more to incorporate the big gun on his arm although the cannons look ok too. Bottom line, right now I'm leaning towards returning him, waiting for Nightwatch Prime to be released, and then seeing it I can't pick LB up on sale when they're overstocked and not moving. As of yesterday, the TRU I go to near the office has had the same 10 or so Leader Brawls for weeks. At least they have Ultimate BB to keep them company.

Leader Brawl is a keeper man. Unless your budget is so tight that you can only have one, then pick Prime over him. But if you even remotely thinking picking him up again later, might as well keep him and start saving money on Prime. You never know if you'll see Brawl again at the same or lower price.
As long as you are not the unlucky few to have a defective Brawl or transform him incorrectly, he is a darn good TF toy. I rated it only slightly inferior to Movie Leader Prime, but not by much. Never understand why some people complain about it. Stands, poses and transforms rock solid. Even like it more than some of my BTs, regardless I am a diecast fiend.

Well, if I do keep him, I have to try and make him look as cool as yours. I have to tools now for the wash, I just need to practice on something and then go for it.

Optimus Prime Leader Class. This bot is awesome. Could be the Best Version Of Prime & par with MP Prime. 39.99 is asking to little. If you want brawl, get deluxe version. Return the toy.

Right now, get Leader Class Prime.
The Prime repaint *is* coming, but in comparison to the original (in-movie)....it's a crapfest.
The original Prime might not even see a re-release.
Brawl's an excellent figure, and well worth the $40.00, but if you have a chance to get Prime before it's impossible (or far too expensive later on)...get him now.
Brawl will be here for a while. No worries.
And the negatives of Brawl are far outweighed by his incredible wow factor, overall.

OK, so here's the bottom line. I checked the mail today and got yet another refund/dividend check from State Farm. Bottom line is that the check for 48 bucks shifted the tide... so, I bought Leader Prime today. Still, thinking about returning Leader Brawl but will probably keep both. Going to head upstairs and open Prime now.
Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and feedback. And thanks to State Farm for the unexpected $.
Oh, and thanks to the Dawgs for beating Alabama tonight. Sorry, had to get the UGA shot in there.

Quick question for you-when you're just doing a wash, are you doing it with the figure together or do you still take it completely apart?
