What is the most amazing transformer _________ ?
Fill in the blank it can anything a toy, whole line, gimick or something that has made them better it doesn't matter. Just say why you think it is amazing. I always wonder what makes transformers so amazing so go ahead and let the whole board know what you think.

This is like the same topic as others, just worded differntly, and it doesn't even make sense,
"what is the most amazing transformer gimmick, line, toy?"

Funny, because I think it makes perfect sense. Nor do I see another thread on the same topic.
You new guys need to stop being so hostile. You're worse than my Jack Russell.
I'd say that the best transformer line has to be Alt/MP. The quality, the design, the plastic (on pretty much all of the tfs) is of a high quality. I love em so much that I'm willing pay that bit extra to secure the ones I want.
And the masterpiece line, says everything it does on the tin.

Both I assume.

Both, clearly. Complete the question as many times as you like, then answer it. Is it that tricky?
Do you feel particularly strongly about a TF toy, or line, or gimmick, or series, or comic? Shortround wants to know what you like, and why.
I don't know if they're my favourite line (there are just too many, each with their pluses and minuses), but I do love the Micromasters. There were some very cool toys in that line, and the very idea that you could have a massive battle within a few square feet is great. They were good pocket-money toys, too, allowing you to get several figures for just a few quid.
On top of that, there were all the vehicles and battle stations, almost all of which could assume a base mode, and with the connecting ramps and given the floor space, you could build a veritable city! I still have a little scrap of paper in my Micros box with a sketched map of my favourite city layout from back in the day. I'd love to be able to get hold of the Japanese stuff that expanded the range even further.
I think the only thing that could be considered 'wrong' with Micros is the same thing that plagues a lot of G1, which is lack of articulation, and considerscale, even that was pretty good.
I'd actually like to have seen Minicons produced as an upgrade of Micromasters. The classic figs (or at least that style fig, done with the capabilities of today's manufacturing and design technology could have been fantastic. Minicons as they are are nice, but I think many of the designs have been overcomplicated to the point where the toy suffers - Micros upgraded with new articulation would have been da bomb; chuck in the Powerlinx port if you must, but if by trying to incorporate the extra gimmicks (especially the combiner ones) you lose the quality of original 'bot, don't do it.

Most amazing Transformer toy: has to be MP Prime. It really is a masterpiece, and makes everything else look a little worse in comparison.
Most amazing Transformer line: tricky. At the time, G1 was astounding, but doesn't age too well in most cases. I'd probably go with the Binaltech/Alternator line as the one that has most consistently delivered great toys.
Most amazing gimmick: not sure I've ever seen a gimmick I really like, apart from transforming. I think lines like Alternators and Classics have shown that the best figures are ones that don't have hidden missile launchers, detachable heads or smegging minicons. Just a decent alt mode that turns into a posable, good-looking robot.

I'd have to say the greatest ever gimmick in a toy line is.....NOSTALGIA!
Everyone knows Prime, Bumblebee and co. So toy sales have definetly seen a great benefit from it.

So what about movie Leader Prime and 08 Bumblebee? They both have good alt and robot modes. And both of them are also pretty much gimmickless (even Prime has relatively few features for a Leader figure).

Toss-up for me between the Masterpiece Prime/Ultra Magnus and the masterpiece Starscream/Skywarp. That skywarp is heavy...
