Postby shakira » Mon Oct 08, 2007 2:39 pm

Hello all I have a tech questions reguarding a G1 Wheeljack toy I have. Should the toy say Hasbro/ Takara on the bottom of the toy? the toy I have says takara 1982 I was wondering if it is a possible Diaclone toy. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks :D

Yep, all Autobot Cars of '84 and '85 were originally Diaclone molds. Same goes for the Decepticons Jets Starscream and Thundercracker, among others.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

Nope, as the molds weren't updated. Only when a mold is changed in any way (elongated missles, restoration, glitch fixing) does it get a new copyright date.

I just checked out my 84 bought G1's Wheeljack and Mirage and theres no Hasbro stamp and the year says 1980 and 1982 on the back.I remember buying these toys back in 84.My guess is that with the first waves of Hasbro released toys they didnt just reproduce Takara molds but brought over some left over stock from them and re-boxed them.
