why are g1 optimus prime homages never more toy based?

i don't mean all homages but something like a one off, making the g1 prime tf look good. like this guys lego prime.

- this isn't a perfect tf, since the hand and heads neel to be set aside, but hasbro/taraka could easily add that.

In answer to the question in the title, the G1 toy was never all that great, and was supposed to represent the character in the cartoon anyway, so most G1 homages are based off the cartoon look rather than the toy look.
