Well, I honestly don't recall Prime's rifle being any other color but black. But it doesn't really matter much, the figure is what's awesome not the gun.

I think the original mp prime had a non-cartoon accurate gun, so they changed it with the later editions, i was just wondering if it is anything special, or more valueable to have the grey version?

The grey is slightly rarer i think. But most people prefer the black gun so there really isn't a price difference. If anything most people are willing to pay more for the black version. However like any variant you could probably find someone willing to pay extra since its not as common.

The way I understand it, every japanese/mp version of the mold has had a grey gun (ie both mp01 and mp04).
The US/20th one innitally had a grey gun, but it was quickly changed to black, and not many grey versions exist. Then there's the Movie 20th dvd edition one, that for reasons unknown, has a blue gun.
Obviously, the black gun is the better option, as it is the colour his gun was.

I think they went with blue to cut cost somewhere... There's no other Black plastic on that very of the figure [except maybe in the shoulders]. Was the base Black? Maybe it was cheaper to use blue than switch to black.
As for the grey gun, it may be rarer but since every Japan version got it there's really nothing special there unless you can prove your Hasbro 20th Prime is MISB still.

I switched MP-01 and MP-02's rifles so Prime would have a 100% accurate rifle (all-black). MP-02 looks better with the silver one as well.

I personally don't think that it matters. I have both the original Takara and Hasbro versions and they both look cool.

Wasn't ther once a (Japaneas?
) bock or Mag cicling the net telling you with version of MP Prime's gune was the rarest and moest valuble one?
That must of been around the time MP Magnus came out. But I'm not shure, cos I googled it back then.

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.

You know the funny thing is it is likely that most of the people that did manage to pick up the gray gun version of 20th Prime have since replaced the stacks with the longer japanesse ones thus making the point moot anyway. I know I did. Though I like the gray gun personally. I thought the black one looked awful.
And the blue one was just ugly. But then again 20th movie prime had an awful paint scheme, and the base was worthless with that grating voice. So I'm sure that version is probably the rarest now do to low demand. Not that being rare makes it any more valuable.
