Here's the deal. My boyfriend is OBSESSED with Transformers- has been ever since I met him. Although I didn't know about them until a year into our relationship because he hid them under his bed. I originally thought he was crazy, but I've come to love the transformers (almost) as much as him.

His 24th birthday/our 4 year anniversary is coming up in about a month, and the only thing he wants- although he says he doesn't want anything- is the 2005 Botcon exclusive Ratchet. He has the Ironhide. Can ANYONE help me find one? I've looked everywhere!

He thinks it's impossible to find one, so if I did it I would definitely be the best girlfriend ever.

Have you tried ebay? Being a convention exclusive he's gonna be expensive and rare, but ebay's the most likly place you'll find him.

I dunno, my ex liked tfs, but I'm once again in the hunt, and the thought of having to show a new girl my room full of tfs fills me with dread...

To be honest, I think anyone would just be touched at the fact that you are trying so hard to make them happy, but if you can't get Ratchet, why not a character he realy likes but doesn't have?

Froogle.com and a google search might also be helpful. Like previously stated, as it is a con exclusive it will be very pricey.

I don't even care about the price at this point. He bought the Ironhide on eBay for 110.00 on a buy it now, and I know the Ratchet goes for more. I've googled and froogled and I have eBay set up to email me any time somebody lists something with "ratchet" "and "Botcon" in the same title.

And, even though they hid under the bed when we first met, since then the walls of our bedroom are filled with bookcases full of Transformers. And in his defense, he also lived in a house with his band when I first met him and shared a room with the drummer who was not a t-former collector.

I even started my own little tiny T-former collection. I have all of the classics and one alternator! Ok so it's nothing compared to you guys, but it's a start.

I'm afraid you probably won't find one...right now. If you wait a couple months, you can probably expect to see several appear on-line as the people who have them will try to sell them to help pay for Botcon this year.

With that said, it would be best to opt for a different b-day/a-day present until that time.

i know its not what you or he's wanting. However the old "i couldnt find what you wanted so i got you this one instead and promise to buy the other when it digs itself out of the woodwork..." has always been a viable approach.

If you cannot find one in time for his biurthday, you could have someone kitbash one from an Energon Towline. I am sure if you contact some people on the kitbash sites they may be able to help out. Then use the figure as a stand in until you can find an original one (kinda like how some guys give a "stand-in" ring when they get engaged).
