Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.

Other than what appears to be a deeper violet and a purple faction symbol, I can barely distinguish the difference between this one and the Hasbro version. Perhaps someone else has a sharper eye.

All monitors display blues/violets differently, and the camera will affect it too, so I don't think you can even assume there's any difference in the color based on these pics.

That's true and I factored that in. I compared the Seibertron image to this one, so I'm betting there's some sort of difference.

HighPrime, don't forget the differences in cameras, they produce widely different colors depending how they're set. There's also a huge difference in backgrounds between this and the Seibertron gallery, that throws the colors off too.
Personally it dosn't appear much of a difference, but arn't all the Takara figures suppose to be metallics?

From what I can tell, it looks like the back of her head is partially painted instead of being just solid translucent red. That would add up several bonus points to this figure.

Whatever the variances in color shades end up being, I'm willing to bet that said colors have been applied with infinitely more care than on the Hasbro U.S. versions we got. Sometimes it seems as if the paint was just thrown at the figure from across the room, and in more extreme cases MAILED to the figure in the hopes that it would land close enough to where the oversplash would at least hit the appropriate part.
Yes, I exaggerate, but the Japanese paint jobs are always cleaner and less flaw-prone than ours in my experience.
