Quality issues with the movie toys? Why so many?
I'm experienceing this and based on many posts, others are experiencing quality issues with the movie toys as well. Just a list I have compiled are (many came from this thread:
http://www.seibertron.com/forums/viewto ... =6729&sid= ):
Blackout stress marks
Broken BumbleBees
Optimus's Backward shoulders
Brawls loose shoulder tabs
Wreckage arms not locking
Robovision Prime having loose joints
Barricade Weak feet
Starscreams oversensitive missle launchers
Ironhides waste
Some links as well:

http://www.seibertron.com/forums/viewto ... =6239&sid=
http://www.seibertron.com/forums/viewto ... =6752&sid=
So do any other people in here feel like we have some figures that aren't going to last long? I'm at the point where I am tempted to put my figures back in the box and into storage and just keep the next set of figures I buy sealed, but that's no fun! I wonder if Hasbro is aware of this?

So many ugly words come to mind. The movie toys are sounding just about as good as a KO off right now.

Ive been lucky with the three I have, only problem I have with Blackout is his fugly ass robot mode (and the stupid ass 'automorph/make it harder than it has to be' feature). And the other two are Real Gears, which are sex.

My Barricade has a dodgy paint ap. On the back left panel where it says "to punish and enslave", about a centimetre closer to the front door is another one that says "and en", like the stamp brushed past or something. Took me ages to work out what it was.
I'd show a pic but I don't have my camera with me.
Dodgy figures = rushed production to cope with expanded market? Maybe.

My Barricade also has problems with his feet, but in my case, his feet wont stay in it's proper position when I transform him into car mode, it's somewhat skewed. Whenever I try to straighten it out, it causes the arms to unlock from the roof and vice versa.

I don't think they're supposed to lock into anything...I see no pegs or holes where they would lock into. They sort of rest on the big "backpack" piece but I haven't had any trouble with mine trying to transform back when I move the arms.

You're transforming him wrong, that happened to me the first time I tried transforming him back into a car but then I realized I was doing it wrong.

Agreed.. This sounds like the most logical answer.

My problem is not with transforming him, it is when he is in bot form any time you want to move his arms you have to hold him on his shoulder pieces so his chest does not move around.
I may take pix to explain better.

Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

I can't be transforming him wrong, I've tried using different configurations to solve it, but the closest I got to car mode is what I described. Too bad I didn't bring my camera to work or I'd show a picture of what I'm talking about.

Yeah, I get that. What I meant was that I don't think the "arms not locking" should be listed as a quality issue when it's really just a design flaw. It's not like the arms are supposed to lock in place and aren't because of poor quality control. See what I mean?

I have Starscream, Barricade, Bumblebee, Jazz, Wreckage, Leader Prime, RV Voyager Prime, Longview, and Booster X10.
I have had absolutely no problems with any of them.

All this is actually kinda making me hope the movie really does suck as much as I feared it would, cos I decided a while back I'd only be buying the toys if I liked the movie.

I still have had no problems with any of my figures. No reversed parts, no smudged paint and no faulty parts. I'm either lucky or a few of you are really unlucky.

Same here, the only thing I can really come close to calling a problem is Barricade's feet, but it doesn't really bother me all that much.

Man!
I have no idea what to do....
I've spent nearly $200(that I don't really have) in the last 2 days on movie toys and now I don't want to open them cuse I'm afraid of breaking them...
I've never been a MIB collecter, and i'll be damned if I'm starting now, all this makes me want to return them all and forget about this line completly....probably won't , but i want to.
This can't be good for Has/Taks reputation, and definitly not good for sales.
It'd be damn shame if the movie toys were what ultimatly killed the TF toy line altogether.

Jesus dude, don't return all of your figures just because a few people on a forum are having some problems. I really think the fandom is blowing these "issues" out of proportion. The majority of people who have purchased the figures haven't had any problems, you're not hearing from many of them because there's no reason to get on here and post, "OMG! My Bumblebee didn't break!". It's a few isolated incidents, but be careful with your figures and for god's sake use the instructions.

I can't believe this.
I have Leader Prime and I absolutely love it, no complaints.
Barricade does have flimsy feet and he is hard to get back into car mode but this problem is so blown out of proportion here.
I'll admit brawls shoulder's are lame and black out doesn't have a lot going for it, but all in all this is an awesome line.
Compared to classics and cybertron, I'm finding these toys quite superior, so far.

Who do you think these figures are for? Collectors? It says ages 5 and up. How many 5 year olds are going to read the isntructions? Parents are going to give their kids these figures and they are going to break. The parents will then say that they will not buy this toy again because they break to easily.
I do want to clarify that not all the figures are a problem. i have no problems with Prime, Jazz, Ratchet, Starscream, etc. but some of these figures are going to be issues. I just don't want people to judge TFs in General because they bought a defective BumbleBee or Blackouts arm tabs broke off.

Fixed.
I do think that the transformations are a little complicated for a 5 yr old, and yeah, some of the QC issues are gonna cause problems. But every kid (and even some adults) have broken a new toy, so as long as the stores & hasbro can handle the customer complaints, everything will be fine.
As for Wreckage, to keep the shoulders from moving while posing, all you have to do is put a finger on the vehicle cannon (gray thing in robot mode that pushes out the chest cannon). If you pick the figure up around the waist, your index finger should naturally fall in that place. Any sustained pressure keeps the shoulders in place, leaving you to fiddle with the arms at your leisure.

overall im really disapointed with all the figures ive bought, and what makes me even more disapointed is I bought the ones i thought i really was gonna like. I thought ironhide would be awesome, but to me the automorph thing just makes him look and feel unstable, added onto the fact that the split cab thing is annoying when trying to move his arms around, because they sorta flop around alittle bit (not alot but definetly alittle bit to the point where it gets slightly annoying). Jazz i knew didnt have actual hands, but i didn't realize how lackign his hands were... to the point where 2 flimsy and thin pieces of plastic form his entire forearm. (everything else about jazz is good, just the arms are a disapointment.)
figures i truly have problems with:
barricade- that stupid punching gimmick he has rarely stays locked together. getting him into the car mode is easy and holds together rather nicely, but his bot mode to me suffers greatly because of that stupid gimmick. im thinking of gluing his arm to stay in the locked position.
wreckage- this guy is great, but the design flaws really detract from what this figure could have been, such as a slightly iffy positioning for the head (always looks like hes looking down, etc), and of course his shoulders.
The only figures i have absoultely no problems with (with the exception of how goofy some of them are, but that adds some charm) are the 3 real gear figures ive bought, longview, laserbeak (to me he will never be called booster x10), and reflector (refuse to use the packaging name)
