Target return policy

I'm considering returning my movie Jazz figure so I can buy the G1 redeco. My question is, what are Target's return policies? Has anyone tried this before? My reason for returning him would be that I'm unsatisfied with the figure, which, y'know, wouldn't be a lie. The mold does suck, which is why I don't want two of them.

If it is anything like the supermarket i work at (im on the customer services desk) as long as you have the receipt, didnt buy it TOO long ago, and havnt set about it with a hammer, they should give you a refund.

Its only ten bucks. Is it really worth the hassle? If you've opened it, they might only give you store credit, or and exchange.

I think the closest to 'store credit' that we have in my shop is an exchange voucher, which we issue on the day of the complaint and has to be spent in the store on that day. We only issue those when the customer dosnt have a receipt and dosnt want to replace the item with one of the same price.

I hate the idea of it but a retailer would probably cave in. You are returning an opened and used product that would be near impossible to sell on again - the retailer has no obligation to swap something just for the hell of it. So you regret buying it because something betters coming along, so what? If you chose it, bought it, opened it and used it in my opinion its yours and any regrets or remorse about buying it are yours to keep as well.

Over in the Netherlands, you can't return opened stuff. Like MegaDave said above me, you bought it and used it. It's now yours. I never understood why US stores accept opened figures. It allows for the notorious figure swapping (taking the new figure and bringing an old sculpts of the same character back) that also plagues the Star Wars collecting world. With this policy, you can buy any TF, transform and pose it for three days but instead of putting it on a shelf in a final display pose, you can bring it back and get full refund. That's just wrong. I doubt any kid would want a second-hand used figure.

You're wrong rushie, they'd just tape the box back up (especilly if it's been opend carefully in the first place) and maybe put a reduced sticker on it.

Most kids couldnt give a **** about the box...

As far as I know Target won't sell opened products. What they will do is mail it back to Hasbro and charge them back for it jsut like they would with a defective product.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm still undecided as to what I'm going to do, but I want to know what my options are before I make a decision. I still have all the original packaging and everything, opened as carefully as possible. (Gotta love the way they wrapped the bubble around the cardboard, heh.)

Yeah, i like that too, a vast improvment on the bubble packaging for most of the last few lines (and the alts...).

That's kinda ridiculous, but since you asked... Just snap the arem peice off and say it was broken. If they ask if you want a replacement say, no thanks these things are cheap. Done.
