I have the Armada and Energon versions. Neither of which have electronics to my knowledge. If they do, then I feel silly for not knowing.

Tidal Wave has no electronics whatsoever, a standout from other Ultra Class figures at the time (which all have a rating of 4 by standard). He was for all purposes a combining magic mushroom, leaving no room for lights or sound.
He does have a Mini-Con gimmick on the gunship: plugging in Ramjet and sliding him back and forth rotates the guns.

Please Hasbro, tell us again why we couldn't just turn the guns with our hands.
Seriously, these gimmicks costed articulation!
