The remolded Megatron mold from Beast Hunters has been at retail for a short while, and due to his new color scheme and remolding, people have been calling him Sharkticon Megatron. Now there's a packaging variant, a running change. Sharkticon Megatron is what the packaging was changed to and it now matches the instructions that have been printed as such since the first release. Only some initial packaging shipments had it labeled as just "Megatron". The weapon name was changed as well, from the original Tartarex Warp Sword to the new Sharktooth Spear.
We have provided pictures of Megatron in both packaging versions for you. These are from the upcoming photo gallery that will be arriving shortly.
And, that's not all that's new with this mold! Apparently a number of them have been incorrectly assembled at the shoulder, and there's finally a fix. Thanks to YouTuber camzilla51, a nicely detailed video containing the instructions for the fix is streaming now at this link and in the embed below:

I wonder if there is a guy at Hasbro looking at his computer and he goes like"The fans are calling it Sharkticon Megatron!Thats a cool name!We should also call it that!"

looks like they changed the name of the weapon to match what's on the instructions as well.

It's barely noticeable as it doesn't really inhibits the toy's function. If anything, the misassembly prevents the shoulder pads from being properly slotted in vehicle mode.

Freaking wonderful! So if a small portion of the fandom decides to jump off a 40 story building does this mean Hasbro is going to promote the idea?? And please, those of you who are behind the name change and are also behind Unicron for the new movie, I invite you to take the first leap. Try not to hit any cars on the bottom.
(in case you need a hint, yes I truly believe both ideas to be utterly and supremely stupid beyond all comprehension. Hasbro getting on board with one or both just compounds the stupidity... In my far-from-humble OPINION)

You know, in a way this is kind of refreshing. Most people can't stop whining because they think Hasbro never listens to the fans. Now here you are complaining because Hasbro listened to the fans. People amuse me.
Also, why do you care? It's a name change. If Hasbro wants to change their products, they are totally free to do that. If they stumble across a good idea that they think is better than what they originally went with, why shouldn't they change it?

but wasn't sharkticon megatorn the name in the instructions? i mean i have seen enough video reviews and all have the "sharkticon" on its instructions now is just they changed the package name to match but is not like nobody at hasbro haven't though of that before

Weapon: Retractable Mecha-Fangs
I doubt Hasbro changed the name due to fan input. I'm sure these have been packaged and ready for distribution for MONTHS. It's more likely that a change in the name for the figure and the weapon was made at a point where they had already printed a number of packages with just "Megatron" on them and "Tartarex Warp Sword" for the weapon. For whatever reason, they decided to change it to "Sharkticon Megatron" by the time they made solicitations to retailers. The instructions were probably all printed after the change, but only a portion of the boxes could be changed. They probably just used the "misprinted" ones anyway since it would save money and not really confuse the consumer anyway. It's Megatron either way, and you're not going to mistake it for something else.

Weapon: Saber Blade
It was always "Sharkticon Megatron" in the instructions. Same with "Sharktooth Spear".
The "Megatron" and "Tartarex Warp Sword" variant seems to have been a boo boo left over from early working names in the production, with the corrected names being what was decided upon.

if hasbro actually listened to us then the toys would be of better quality, the prices wouldnt be so high, stores would be stocked with figures & not empty, bayformers would've ended years ago & Bumblebee would be killed off. This was not changed cause of fans calling him sharkticon it was changed cause there was either an error in the printing department or the name was decided after the first batch of boxes were made. This is hasbro we're talking about they're not going to throw away a bunch of printed boxes cause of a name change or error.

Duuude...Megatron should totally get his own shark movie on the Syfy channel! Just so we could have James review it later:

It looks like Hasbro's playing into the potential cash cow known as troop building. They want these to be you're sharkticons. Watch these things start filling the shelves. I'm good with one, I got the Igear sharkticons on pre-order. I just keep this guy in the background next to Alicon as a weird monster from Quintessa. I still haven't transformed him, so I wasn't aware he was misassembled.
