The Death of Barricade
I know the scene wasn't in the movie, and therefore may or may not have happened when the sequal comes out, but I thought I'd print here what it said happened to Barricade in the book adaption, and a picture of the exact same scene from the comic book adaption.
Basically after Optimus Prime took out Bonecrusher, Barricade jumped Optimus, and this occured...
"There followed a flurry of furious action that ended only when Optimus flipped the machine clinging to him against a steel-and-cement freeway pillar. The impact cracked and bent the column. It did worse to Barricade, who lay twisted and unmoving."

It's obvious why Bay cut it from the film. Not enough explosions, or general violence.
Even if you said it was because Barricade was still suffering from Bumblebee's attack, I find it very lame that Barricade was defeated by hitting a concrete piller, after everything Brawl took.
(Yes, I know, Car vs. Tank, but still)

They want to hold Barricade back for Tf2 don't they? That's why this was removed from the film?

I think Barricade couldn't make the final fight because he was busy being repainted as "Recon Barricade".

I'm glad that didn't make it into the final film. Far too easy to kill a tf, even by this film's standards. Barricade deserves better.

IMO, i think the reason why they didn't do anything with Barricade was cause they were running out of money. i know i've read and heard that it costs a lot of money and takes a lot of time to animate CGI shot. not to mention how much money the company has put into marketing, etc. anyone notice that you only see Prime transform 3 times in the movie and it's only from truck to robot? never robot back to truck. if you guys want more bot time on screen in the next movie, Paramount is gonna have to spend more $.

YeekJat wrote:That comic picture doesn't make sense, because when prime was done with bonecrusher, he was way below the freeway, on the ground. In the comic, it showed him throwing barricade near the other autobots, who were up on the freeway still.
The events of the comic were shorter than the film. In the comic Bonecrusher tackled Optimus right after leaving Hover Dam and there was no falling down the highway. Also, Optimus used a gunshot to the head on Bonecrusher, not a hand-axe.

barricade death
now that i think about it barricades death is possible. I mean u have a huge pised of robot that's prolly full of adrenalin from just owning bones and then he picked up a mere 17ft tall robot that prolly dosen't have the frame to withstand hige blows especally thos given by a huge robot. So i think if prime threw barricade into a concerte piller and those things are made to withstand 2 ton machines robot or not barricade could have been killed.

A Transformer thrown with that force should go through the concrete pillar, not explode off it. Or at the very least, bring the pillar down as he explodes. They can drop from orbit with no hassle, a concrete pillar shouldn't be enough to blow one up.

The movie actually came in under budget if I remember correctly, so money wasnt the issue. They probably filmed it, the scene didnt come out te way they intended, cut it from the final print and then decided that since he never died onscreen that they could reuse hime for the next movie.
And for Prine Robot to Truck would just be reversing the frame, it would look lame and we already know he turns into a truck so we wouldnt need to see it all of the time to know it happens.

Not just from the Movie - the comics based on cartoons are different from the series too.

The comics and novelizations are almost always based on the screenplay. When filming certain things get changed or dropped and thats why the comics almost always have more plot points.
