I am quite impressed with the newly revived megatron, however I am pretty confused over his alternate mode, while in the toy he transform into a cybertronian tank only , in the movie he seems to be able to transform into both tank and jet modes. My question is does he has a jet mode? or is he a flying tank? :-?

The Voyager class does, but it's not advertised. You have to find it yourself. there's a thread about it in the toys forum. (Which is where this should be.) The Leader class is just a tank, as far as I know.

And if you're not asking about the toy, then yeah. He is a triple changer.

That's how I took it as well.

Yeah as far as I could tell the tank just flew sometimes...He didn't turn into a jet like in the first movie (even though the "Movie Universe" guide by DK indicated he would have both modes)

You know, the Movie Adaptation comic was REALLY misleading on a lot of things, including the appearance of Megatron's former alt mode when he flies.

We have to remember that those things were done long before the final look of the movie was finished, leading to inconsistencies.

Going by your own comment above, he's a jet with tank treads. Still not a triple changer, sry2say.

As i said in the other Thread.

TF2 Megatron = Blitzwing and the Dark Knight Batmobile getting jiggy.

Infact if id hazard a guess from the way he moves on screen in Tank mode id say they took more than a little Inspiration from the Batmobile.

I think Megatron escaped the final battle using the jets he used to reach the surface of the sea in robot mode when he was re-activated.

My friend told me that he saw Megatron turn into a gun at one point in ROTF. I didn't see this at all, and I've never heard anyone else say they did either. Can anyone else confirm this, or is my friend just crazy or something?

I saw no gun, he was a tank and either a jet or a tank that could fly ( you dont see it cos its hidden behind smoke, you just see the burners of the jets as he takes off. )

I think he has to power of 3 different choices (2 alt modes)

- Fly as himself, using jets on his back
- Fly as a jet
-Roll (pretty damn fast) as a tank

well just came abck from wiki and read this in there. "Megatron returns for the sequel film, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Megatron is revived by Scalpel and the Constructicons with an Allspark shard and now takes on the form of a Cybertronian tank, that has the ability to fly because of its wings" :grin:

Your friend has quite the imagination.

No, he did not transform into a gun in ROTF.

The only thing resembling changing into a gun is when Mixmaster drops his shields in front and turns into a gun emplacement. The toy actually does a great job recreating that transformation. But no, Megatron doesn't turn into a gun.
