Speak for yourself, they aren't trashing my childhood. Give me Bay and giant efffing robots any day...
It's nice to see some new life pumped into the T-F series, even you have to admit that.

Hell yes. This movie, whether you or any other naysayers realize it or not, is going to usher in a new generation of Transfans. Not only that, this is something that some of us have wanted for a long time. I, for one, believe this will be the most kickass movie for a LONG time to come.
Ok, rant over

Looks like you may be celebrating your boycott alone while everyone else goes to see it. It'll only be a matter of time til you won't be able to take it anmore and fork over the measley $8 to go see it. But even after you see it you won't admit it. Curiosity will take over. Being the T-Fan you are I doubt you won't be seeing it.

Heavens no! How dare they make money out of something based on the 30 minute toy commercials we watched as children!

The point is, it could have been something truly great.
From what I and the topic creator have seen so far, it's Independence Day.
Are we wrong to have wished it be something more epic than that?
Oh, this movie might get sequels, but so did X-Men... and frankly, X-Men 3 was an EMBARRASSMENT from it's source material.
It could have been a long-lasting movie franchise had it been done correctly, going into many, many more movies.
Maybe I'm being too visionary though. Perhaps having the theater turn back into playing episodic serials is the way to go again. Hollywood's probably not ready for it yet.
(Damn, talk about a tangent...)

Whether it's good or bad, I'm still going to see the movie. It was the same deal when I went to go see the TMNT movie earlier in March, despite annoying people moaning about the CGI. Seriously, get over yourself and just watch the movie.

Well, my avatar describes my position best.
I don't know why one would support something they found to clearly not be up to their expectations.
We've seen enough of everything so far to make a good appraisal of what it'll be like.
Certain "uncrossable" lines were drawn in the sand, and they went over them, over-the-top images of giant robots ice-skating on concrete highways be damned.

Heh... Heh.... my brother sent me images the other day via cell phone of his latest acquisitions of Transformer toys..in his room, and he sent along a tag line that I was reminded of by yours... his was:
"Their war, My room!"
LOL... I thought that was cool!!! the pic showed his figures displayed proudly on his large computer desk shelves, and the movie posters on the wall behind him.. now remember my brother was never really a Transfan until recently, though when he was growing up, his intro to their world was Beast Wars and Robots in disguise.. I got him back into it, by replaying choice episodes of Beast Wars on youtube.com... he slowly became obsessed with the genre and is now a hopeless Transfan!!
I created a monster!!
Muah Ha HAAHA HAA!!!
Yeah, I am in total disagreement with this fan over how the soundtrack and movie will be.. for me, and Mr. Cullen, this is a good update for what they should be.. and I'm not the least bit upset...anymore...I was until I began to warm up to the fact that I was in love with the Generation One from the 1980s.. this is the Generation One for the 2000s and I needed to rethink that whole world for a new millennium and sense of realism.. I'm glad to see the new movie and designs have come with such force, elegance, and style!!!
but I care about the directors and actors, because I'm excited to see Peter Cullen back as Prime, he deserves it, and he's a nice guy, from what I have read..
Besides watch the extended scene with Bonecrusher and Optimus Prime and if your still not convinced then your just like stone.. cause that scene was freaking Awesome!!!!

I'm sure you'd much rather have an ice skating cgi dinosaur.

No, it was a BUNCH of dinosaurs and a bunch of gumballs (or was it rubber balls?).
(American Godzilla)

And it works just as much now as it did then. If you were a weapon and you had wheels would you seriously not use them for speed?

Urgh...another whiner.
If you have actually paid any attention to the movie you would see that alot of the original source material is in the movie. Alot of the lines are taken straight out of the G1 cartoon. All our fave characters are there and many of them have better designs than nearly most other incarnations of TF's since G1.
The CGI looks like its going to set a new standard in film animation and CGI, and the action is going to be epic, fast-paced and full of adrenaline.
I mean come on, you have Micheal Bay who knows how to direct an action sequence and GIANT EFFING ROBOTS all in one.
This movie can do nothing but be a huge success!
And as for ruining your childhood goes thats a right load of crap.
