Weapon: Requiem Blaster
I personally completely differ from almos everything said here.
I. LOVE. THEM.

I just bought on a MASSIVE BARGAIN!!! huffer, caliburst, bombshock, and his mates off a freind down the road altogether for £10. At that price, they were a really good bargain.
At retail price, they are utterly over priced.
Let's see... scout:£7, four drones:£13. What??? this is telling me that each drone is as good as a ledgends fig!

Now, onto the toys themselves.
Huffer with caliburst: this guy is amazing! his transformation appears to be two steps long, but he still has epic vehicle and robot modes. His torso mod works pretty well too. Caliburst is aldo very cool, but the armour mode seems a bit half-hearted. The gear bits go quite well, but the gun sticking out randomly? and i hate how you can see his face... still, he's very awesome.

Bombshock and co.?
They are brilliant. Bombshock in both modes is nice, while the vehicle mode drones are cool. When they combine, though, is when they really shine.
Yes, bombshock feels lke he's going to break whn you flip the chest down.
Yes, the limbs look a bit messed up.
Yes, on mine one limb doesn't go back to a vehicle well(the double missile one) and one limb hardly ever stays on if you pick him up(the jeep one), but these combiners are so fun, it doesnt matter.
The interchangerbla limbs idea is brilliant so long as you get a set up that works. The putting the other scouts in is an absoloutely amazing idea that adds so much play value.
These toys are awesome.
Prices aside, these are a must buy for me. And hopefully anyone else.

If you are devout unicron trilogyist, think of the two packs as armada continued and the five packs as energon continued.

If not, belive me, they are simple and fun.
Exactly what we all want from a toy.

I took a look at the PCC line at Walmart and, frankly... I regret buying the Bayformer instead... I just might go back.

If it's not fun or sturdy, how is it even a good kid's toy?

Let's see. No elbows, bad & not fun toy. Guess all those G1 toys that roped us fogeys in weren't really fun toys at all.[/quote]

First, never use those words to start your argument. I may not be an "old fogey" (as you put it anyway) I did however see G2 re-runs on tape when I was five. More importantly, I also played with toys from Generation 2 that my older brother had collected.
It's been 10 years since then, and over 25 years since the original series and toys hit the scene. I.E. time has passed, and things have changed.
Your like the people who say "G1 had a stupid plot so who cares if the movie is dumb."

The point I was trying to make, Is that it has very little articulation in it's limbs considering there's no robot part's getting in the way, this is due to the ejecting gimmick, which I think is somewhat more invasive than it could be. Albeit, gimmicks in general have have become a bit of a pet peeve for me.

Well, if your kid likes them, that's fine. When I was a kid I would have hated stuff like this though. That's why I avoided buying many transformers during the Unicron trilogy.

No such words would ever come from me.

Yes, time has passed. Yes, things have changed. But the fact is, some things do stay the same. PCC are both. They're a change in workings & aesthetics, while still a more simplistic toy. Just because Hasbro's produced a recent item with no elbows, for example (and among the variety of other items coming out currently), doesn't mean said toy isn't a good toy, nor in any way indicate it's not fun for kids. But that's an issue I, and others, see clearly nowadays that some of the maturing and older collectors among us (and other genres) get it stuck in their head every toy item from a company should be fully articulated and an advancement from prior releases. As great as such thinking is for us, it loses sight of both a target audience for toys, and in turn the target market for any toymaker.

Which brings me to..

My kiddo's roughly the same age as you were when you were viewing those "G2 reruns" on tape. I fully expect him to develope more discerning tastes in toys as he grows, but for right now (and in the case of one of my nephews as mentioned, and the same with many, many, many other children in the age range) PowerCore Combiners are a neat & different Transformer toy that is simple, easy & fun. Go Hasbro.

Alright, I got Sledge the other day, and I have found that he is a great fig.

Throttler is also made for armada hoist's left arm.

Back on track, I have to say that the line is too all over the map as far as integrity and QC goes.

However, I will say that when I finish my PCC waves 5, 6, and maybe 7, I may mail them in.
I know I'll draw flak for this, but I love these guys, simply because a lot of the odd concepts from G1 that would otherwise never come back are present here. A few:
Breastmasters
Powermasters(who here has noticed this with the way the drones work?)
On occasion, P/CP with figs like sledge
Randomized alternate modes

And on a semi-unrelated note, has anyone noticed heavytread looks like a baneblade and the destructacons are a set based on Motorstorm? Also, re-using the name from that cybertron green dune buggy would be perfect for this line.

Those hands, I can't forget those silly, delicate hands. Always spinning and dancing and cutting away, spinning and dancing and crushing away, twirling and whirling and warping around and away. No escape, no escape. Every time I close my eyes they come back. Any serenity I gain is lost by their image. No escape, no escape, nothing can get me away from those dancing, enthusiastic, delicate hands and their diamond fingers.......

Sledge is awesome, this guy can dig a hole to the center of the Earth. I picked him up today(over Icepick), he has the most unique mini-con, and combined with mini-cons of past like the other digging burrowing style, Beast Machines Mol just can't keep up.
I really didn't expect to like him this much.
