We all will eventually
I want him to die now. Then his parents will sell it on ebay for $30 on ebay as "large vintage transformer".

Haha. So true. You'd see t on ebay for a Buy it Now price of $20.
Nah, my gf is cool and doesn't bug me about money. It's just that we don't share money and I make like twice what she does. So I try and keep big purchases on the DL, as it makes me feel kinda guilty.
BTW Pitts, theres noather of these on ebay right now. Bidding still only at like 120.

Well, now you have. He was only released in the Asian market since he was unable to pass drop tests to ensure children wouldn't be hurt by pointy bits that might break.

How about, you shouldn't have to? How about it's none of her business? How about telling her times are modern, and you shouldn't have to spend all your money on her?
What is wrong with women? My girlfriend will loan me money to buy toys, and other guys have to hide their purchases from theirs. What's wrong with this picture?

Guilt my friend, since asides from dinner and special occasions, I rarely buy her stuff and make a lot more than she does. Its not that I'm not allowed to or she'll give me ****. I'll just feel massively guilty when she sees it. I mean, here I am spening 3 cs on a toy, when she is scrambling to spend a hundred bucks on underwear last weekend.

You shouldn't feel guilty about getting something you want. If it makes you feel better, after making such a large purchase on yourself, take her out, get her something. Ease your guilt, make her happy. Two birds.

I keep meaning to. Somehow never get around to it. Might be time to make a trip to Coach.

Wow, $100 on underwear? I bought a three pack of boxers for ten bucks last week. Granted, you can't wear Brave Max, or hide it under your clothes.....

This gave me an idea on how to hide it. Stand it up in the corner and dress it up in baggy clothes and a large hat. If she asks what it is, say it's your baby cousin or something, he's really shy and doesnt like to speak. Or put it in a bed and do the same.
But a better idea would be to ease your guilt by treating her to something magnificant. Just have a night devoted to her. Then, everyone wins.

Haha. Cousin Max
When I get him, I just HAVE to dress him up and take a pic now.
I'll get you a pic of Cousin Max this weekend hopefully.
Thanks for the congrats. I have definately warmed up to spending the 270 now that a couple of days have passed. In a way, very liberating.
Yea, I think the GF needs a new handbag from Coach to ease my concience, lol.

Cousin Max isn't such a bad idea. Just pet it in the corner, pile a little clothes on it (DO NOT MAKE HIM WEAR IT) and leave it there for a few weeks. After awhile, unbury it and act like you've always had it. Worked on my mom back when I lived at home. And if that doesn't work, you'll need to get a new girlfriend anyway so it won't be a problem with the new one!
PS: My Brave Max is the only Maximus in the world to be served cheese fries at a Denny's at 3AM!

Forget the drop test. Put anything in my brother's hands and all you'll have is pointy bits that WILL break.Flux Convoy wrote:Saber Prime wrote:Um... Brave Maximus was a RID repaint of G1 Fortress Maximus... At least in the cartoon anyway I don't remember ever seeing a toy of him.

(some kids have a tendancy to actully take toys apart and/or through them agenst the wall while most may only drop a toy by accident.)

Well then, I got him in the mail today.
The box was bigger than I thought and in excellent condition.
When I took Brave Maximus out of the box I was blown away. He is waaaaaaaay bigger than I had ever imagined. Like, I knew he was 2 feet, but I wasn't prepared for what a 2 goot TF would look like sitting on the coffee table. Amazing. I can't stop staring at thim.
The additional Fortress Maximus gun that was added in is a nice addition. I think he may need one of the Replica Grand Max swords from ebay. Any repro on ebay stand out as far as quality?
But yeah, wow, just wow. I wish I had got him ealier. Worth 270? Absolutley. I think if I had to sell every TF I own, save one, this would be the one I held onto. No doubt in my head. This would have been a wet dream as a kid.
I made the mistake of putting Metrplex next to him. I used to love Metroplex. He looks like a stubby little runt now.
I made another mistake by putting him near my MPs. I had to move hom promptly as my MPs fast lost their luster.
I have bought a lot of TFs as an adult. Way more than as a kid. Fo the first time since I was 11, I have that feeling of wow, this is the greatest toy ever.
After today, my stance on TFs is, if you do not own a Maximus, sell as many TFs as you have to to get one. It wil be well worth it.
P.S. There are no upside down stickers on this Sonokong Maximus. The one on the chest inverts when in city mode, but that is a ramp that goes down, so it is unseen. However, if it pointed the other way, the sticker would be upside down and visible in bot mode. Unless I have a Takara one in a Sonokong box. I'll have to check him for trademarks.

When he is in city mode, on the large blue tower there is a squarish faction symbol. If it indeed the Sonokong version, this will be upside down. Otherwise, yes I love the giant bastard too he's certainly one of my very favorite pieces. I'm glad to know you're as satisfied with him as I'd hoped. I like the colors much more than Fort Max too. If I had to complain, I would like more of his guns and extra bits but he's fantastic as is. If there were good repros available I'd look into them but to my knowledge there really aren't

Check ebay, there are some repros that look good in the pic. I have an original rifle. Add the Sword, and I'd be rocking.
Hmm, I know the symbol you are referring to. The one on the tower that forms from his hips. No, the symbol is right way up.
Hmm, where is the copyright info on him. I wonder if this is a Takara version in the wrong box.

I am absolutely dressing him up. Need to get in touch with hte old feminine side.
My Max spent 2 weeks in the trunk of my car until I could bring him in the house so it kinda bcame my thing. Friends would want to see it so I'd go to their house or work or the mall and bring him out. After a week of pulling him out of the trunk ever time I was somewhere, I started seat belting him in the back seat and put a blanket on him. One night we brought him into the Dennys (it was college, we had no taste in food) and the waitress was surprised. The next night she left an extra menu for him and after that he bacame the shared food order. Cheese fries, nachos, even a "birthday" banana split. It was fun but the first chance I had, in the house he went. Must fun I ever EVER had with a Transformer. Good times, good times...

Bonger wrote:I really don't want to fork out 270 bucks. However, how can I pass up a MIB Brav Maximus for 270 shipped??
I more than half hope I get outbid.![]()
Edit 2 min later: Crap crap I'm still winning. /panic!!
Edit 43 seconds later: OH damn, how the hell am I going to hide this monstrosity from my GF? She KNOWS that Maximus is big bucks.
On a brighter note, woohoo, I've wanted one of these MIB for a while now. Just wasn't ready to take the plunge just yet.
I got one MISB for $175, shipped from BBTS when he came out in like 2003-4-ish.
He has a day job and cuts the grass for me outside. He also scares my Husky.
He is ****ing HUGE! You will NOT understand until you own him. Stand MP Prime, G1 metroplex in front of him. He laughs at their lack of hormones during puberty.
Aparently, Brave Maximus drank more milk than all of the other Transformers growing up...
He stands tall in front of MP Megatron, and Megatron whinces in fear like a little *****.
He is just over 2 FEET tall, from foot to the top of his head.
He is my centerpiece, and well worth the price you might just have to pay. But don't pay more than $300+shipping.
Oh yeah, shipping is $$$, as he weighs a metric ton.
