I can't tell from the pic.

This is the main reason why I refuse to buy or support those EXACT REPLICA HQ KO G1 Reissues! It is a misleading to both the buyers and sellers. Someone will get hurt by paying high price and thinking it's the real deal. A couple of years from now when these HQ KO Reissues are in their loose stage and parts get mixed with the original, it's going to be tough to tell which is which. :BANG_HEAD:

Does anyone have tell tale signs of KO on the loose cons? I have 3 sets of devestator and would like to display 1 that is the real deal

Unfortunately its an 100% genuine fake. Its exactly the same as my bootleg at home.

The easiest way I've found is to look at the face/head molds. The fakes often lack the sharp definition of the original.

bought all mine off ebay except for a hook i bought off here. just want to make 1 legit set. any sites with detailed pics of differences between real and KO. I ordered the reissue off bbts. dev has always been my fave

I'm kind of confused.

A Hasbro repro but made to look like a KO or a bootleg not a KO? Or a bootleg made to look like an original? Isn't that for all intents and purposes a KO?

1.First, please check the box's printing details. There are common misspellings

2.Sometimes, the box art are too new to be true, even the plastic sealed ones have some faded prints

3.The original Diaclone Hook, TF Hook and KO Hook connector is die-cast and not chromed plastic.

4.The catalog is not an accurate gauge for authenticity.

5.Transformers G1 in China is very popular. hence the demand so no surprise of the numerous KO being produced.

We're all friends here. Not trying to rain on your parade. Just not getting your hopes up.

Just out of curiosity, how is the build quality on that particular KO Devastator? I got a KO Devy (in G2 yellow) at a Walgreens of all places back around the time of late RID, early Armada, and it literally fell apart in a few months by just standing there. I can't imagine having paid $90 for something that's of that low quality, so I hope for this guy's sake it's better than that.

I know there're good (or at least better) quality KO's out there, though. My KO Ruination bought around the same time is just fine. Been standing next to my legit Ruination, and while it's clearly lower quality than the real deal, it's not any falling apart like Devy did.

Actually that KO is pretty crap. Sure it looks like the original, however in terms of QC its poor, the original official release is far far superior. My KO Mixmasters arm broke 2 days after I received it in the post. Also the molds themselves lack refinement, joints seem overly stiff, and as a result you often have to force the transformation, risking damage and causing stress marks in the plastic, especially when attempting to combine the Constructicons to form Devastator.

I'm really looking forward to this official reissue and I'm definitely getting it. Its actually scheduled for release in November around my Birthday, so it would make a wonderful present. I really hope we get an ehobby release in G2 colours also, that would be awesome.

It depends on the item you get. I own the HiQ Devastator and plan on buying the Encore too. My version is over 3 1/2 years old and still hasn't broken apart yet. Aside from the loose Scavenger foot it is waaaaaaaay better than the original G2 release.
