Sweeps!!!!! How many are too many?
How many members bought multiple sweeps so that scourge could have a few sweeps behiend him for a bad ass looking display?
I originaly bought one. I didnt think Id run across an atitional two but I did. I passed on them for awhile until the other day I picked a few up for a potential sale to another member. When I was informed that he did not need them, I went ahead and opened them to add to the army. I didnt think Id ever spend money for two more scourges but now Im glad I did. It looks real good with galvatron, cyclonus, scourge and two sweeps behiend them.
I will not exceed two "sweeps" though as theyre were only three in the movie. Not only that, but I believe any more is a bit excessive. I also wouldnt like to feel that I am hording all the scourges LOL! I already kinda feel bad that I own three.
Anyone else have multiple scourges and if so, how many did you buy?
Does anyone feel that buying multiple scourges is stingy as he can be a difficult figure to obtain and that someoneelse could have used my extras to finish their collection?
Is anyone else planning to buy a few scrapheaps to have a few junkions in their display?

Don't feel bad. I think alot of fans are guilty of buying more than one Scourge. Three is my limit. I bought the first one on HTS. Later bought the second and third at Target three weeks apart. Target had plenty so I didn't feel bad buying two more. There's no doubt, I'm getting muliple Scrapheaps. I just don't know how many. Maybe 2 in vmode, 2 ride and my Wreck-gar stand alone.

He is as hs name suggests here where I live. I can't go to a Target in a thirty mile radius and not find at least three of them at each store, if not double that. If I was to buy every one of them, I'd have an army that would rival Alfred Hitchcocks swarm of birds.

I have one RTS, one United and one eHobby clear version. I never bought multiples of him to have "sweeps" (nor would I unless I was going to modify the heads/faces to make them look different, otherwise it's just a bunch of "Scourge-clones", not the Sweeps).

I have four. Didn't get them for a while, but then they just shelfwarmed so I picked up the other three. If anyone needs more, they're up on hasbrotoyshop.com and you can use the 25 percent off code with free shipping!

I guess it all depends on how many you the collector are will to go. Weather your choice was the Botcon Sweeps which I know lots of fans picked up except me, I just didn't care for them but nice head sculpts. Or if your choice was the classics/generations sweeps which IMHO are far greater than the Botcon versions. Either way the choice is up to you the collector but 4 is a nice round number to have, 3 being minions and 1 United as Scourge.
For my own enjoyment I did get 2 Cyclonus just because of the 2 that appeared in a scene for TF '86 movie which if someone can explain. Was that was just a simple error or what...? Still having 2 Cyclonus (Hasbro and Challenge at Cybertron) looks awesome standing amongst Scourge and his Sweeps!

I have two. I was going to buy three because I thought that's how many were in the show. I've just been too lazy to go back and check.

Depends on what you're going for. Personally, I think 3 is sufficient. But then I ended up with United Scourge and the e-Hobby clear United Scourge. I'm sure Hasbro will pump out this mold again at some point so the more repaints I end up with, the less inclined I'll be to have 3 of the exact same version of a mold.

I currently have One United Scourge, three Generations Scourges and three Botcon sweeps. However I'm not really feeling the Botcon sweeps anymore; they're feeling out of place. So I think I'm going to put them up for sale and find a fourth Gen Scourge to call it even.

I think it was explained in the movie that Scourge would have his Sweeps and Cyclonus had an Armada.

Re: Sweeps!!!!! How many are too many?
I kinda like a little variation in my army of Sweeps so they're all mishmashed. My main display has the eHobby clear guys as themselves. It was an expencive set and I dig the clear, so those will be the main guys for a long while.
In my smaller "C" display, I have my fallbacks .... which, now that I think on it, are more expancive than the eHobby set. But whatever. I have Botcon Scourge, Hasbro Scourge, United Scourge, and Titanium Scourge all standing together with RID Cyclonus and Galvatron G. Of those Botcon Scourge is "my" Scourge and the rest are Sweeps ... but the great thing about them is that I can switch out who's really Scourge based off my mood. For me having a lot of identical toys feels like a waste and the colors on these guys are so close that they really feel like they're part of the same team.
So, I guess, any more than 5 is too much for me. I feel good about what I have, unlike some of the KO Seekers I bought ...

I bought one and opened it right away. I then bought 3 more about a month later. I never opened them though as I was feeling perhaps it was a bit much and "hoarding". But then I saw someone on here that had bought there 4th Warpath and thought....ehhh, why not. So I have 4 and that is it.

I have three G1's and one Generations. I customized one of the G1's to be Scourge and not just a Sweeps. Then Generations came along and now he's my Scourge and the G1's are his Sweeps.
I'll get more if i get em at a good deal.

not exactly an animation error, but a failure of communications between the production teams.
early scripts stated that Cyclonus was to get a team of clones for him self...his Armada.
this clone team was going to be like Scourge and his sweeps.
the idea was dropped, but that info wasnt given to the animators before they produced the scene,

I've bought every single Scourge that I've seen in English shops, plus the one sent to me by a wonderful Seibertronian in the States. I have exactly ONE. It would look nice to have three but space will be an issue one day so I have to consider that. Plus I don't like buying multiples.

TRU UK had a mixed wave case with Scourge in on shelves a few months back, only place that I've seen him at UK retail though. I'm up to 3 Generations, but in the market for another 3 and a United when finances improve.

There aren't any TRU in my area. I'm happy with one though.

I've been considering getting more, I have the one scourge. I think I'd prefer a slightly different color for the sweeps, so I'll hold off. If hasbro doesn't do one, than that's fine too.

I have 3 of the mold but want to have equal numbers between them and the Junkions. (How cool would that scene have been in the Movie, the unlimited Sweeps versus the unkillable Junkions?) I differentiate Scourge by having him hold Blesser but I still haven't gotten around to stripping the blue leg stripes and Con symbols off of the Sweeps yet.

Unfortunately, lack of wall space to put up shelves and a nearly-empty wallet have forced me to keep my toys in storage, and start being picky with anything I buy :\ If my memory serves me correctly though, I technically have five versions of Scourge (not counting G1) and three sweeps - BotCon Scourge and his three sweeps, Titanium, Classics, United and eHobby clear. Since my collection follows a storyline and a specific timeline, it's easy to find places to put multiple versions of the same character.
Specifically, I had Titanium as my Classics Scourge (he was the best version before the actual Classics came out) at a point before he gained his sweeps and BotCon Scourge with three buddies for after. Even though the Classics/United versions are far superior, I still like the way the BotCon ones look enough to keep me spending any more money on them. Also they came out after I had to box up my collection. Not sure what I'll do with the clear version once I get some space though...
Er, to answer your question though, I say if you have the space then too many is when you can't fit any more. Me personally though, I think having three looks the best - two implies sidekicks, three implies an army. That's just my opinion, though. I'm also totally a fan of having United as my Scourge and Classics as my sweeps, just to have a little variation to distinguish them. After all, leaders tend to look a little sharper than their grunts.
As for Junkheap, or whatever his name is, I plan on getting three: one for Wreck-Gar to ride, and two as Junkions. I've got the eHobby Junkion so there'll be some variation, and since there were plenty of twins in the movie I don't mind having two identical ones.
The only exception to this rule of threes I have is with Cyclonus. I've got RtS as my Cyclonus with two Classics as his armada. I'm pretty sure there were only two shown in the movie (before mysteriously disappearing, maybe to get donuts or something?) so I've decided to keep that image. The colors match up well together (I have the sparkly United as an earlier version of him, and now a clear version to do something with) and I like the variation in numbers to distinguish him further from Scourge.
Anyway, sorry for rambling @_@ If you made it all the way through this and you're curious as to what these look like, just check the link in my sig. It is a bit cramped, though - I was pretty intent on getting all the toys I owned on display at the time.

Re: Sweeps!!!!! How many are too many?
May I ask exactly where the united scourge came from? That is was he ever available on shelves?
I would very much like to own that figure as it has just enough distinction from the generations version to be set apart as unique without looking too different. Perfect to be the primary scourge.
