I saw this and preordered on the spot. Extra articulation is always a plus in my book. Not to mention a real head so the robot mode doesn't look ugly. And the flip out parrot pecker is an extra added bonus !!!

Im with Rated X on this one they look pretty cool and the squakbox head looks quite decent. Hahaha the bird head is bit inappropriate for the kid colllectors

It's no different than here his G1 head is in that mode. It's just more... articulated now
I'm a casette whore, so these will be mine. It helps that the G1 versions are the only tapes I had as a kid. Sure these don't seem to be too different, but then what would a Neo G1 Squawk Talk and Beast Box look like? Prety much like this.
But where's the Steelpaw preorder? That's one I'm really looking forward to.
The tape and Beast modes are quite good but I find the combined Robot mode to be a bit lacking. I'm still going to get them. Masterpiece Soundwave needs more cassettes. I hope Keith's Club keep releasing cassettes. I already have Ramhorn and SG Ramhorn on preorder. I just need a Blaster to go with them. Did you hear that Fans Toys, get that Blaster you teased out into the wild.

yes yes, by the gods, Steeljaw must be made available

I agree with Mkall. These are very similar to the G1 transformations, just more articulation. I believe these are just computer renders. I will wait for pics of the actual figures in hand before I decide on them.

Apparently Steelpaw is ... twice the thickness of a G1 casette.
That just may be a deal breaker for me. I dunno. Hopefully they're on that and that's why we haven't seen any pics yet.
He also mentions that Ramhorn is not high in cassette mode as the G1/MP versions.
Add to that the very low quality and, frankly, bad look of these guys and they are clearly not worth it.
Takara has to be planning to do MP Blaster at some point, so I'll be waiting for good versions to be released. The exception will be CST 03 & 04, might get these if they are to crappy seeing as I doubt Takara will bother with them.

If you look at the pics Rhinohorn does appear to be the same size as a G1 casette. So he's still a go. These have been redone and they're made using plastics and not resin. So it'll be better overall than the original kit.
Since they fixed Rhinohorn I am hoping they'll fix Steelpaw. We haven't actually seen any pictures of the new Steelpaw, so there's still hope. Maybe that's why we haven't seen preorders just yet.

If they have fix Rhinohorn then that's good, but that fact that you can see his eyes in cassette mode turn me off still. A couple of bits of plastic there could've been extended slightly to cover those. That bodes well for a fix to Steelpaw, but these designs still don't come close to what Takara has done so far, so waiting and seeing is what I'll continue to do

I'm getting all of 'em. I want as many casette moulds as I can get my grubby little hands on. If Fanstoys released their not-MP casettes I'd get those too.
I remember your issue with the eyes, but I'm far more forgiving on that point (obviously).

I'm a massive fan of the cassettes (even though I only have a couple of em) and normally quite forgiving with TF toys, but this time for some reason I just can't be. No idea why.

No one seemed to mention this yet, but in an age where Soundwave and Blaster molds released during the last 5 or so years are using the double-tape chest (and MP Soundwave can fit 3 cassettes), I think you're being a little short-sighted. Hopefully some pictures show up soon that will verify the thickness, but it wouldn't stop me from buying.

Nobody's mentioned it because it's so obvious. Even if I have a few double deckered players, I don't really like that Steelpaw can't fit inside of a standard one and is twice the width of every single other casette out there. Doubly upsetting is that he can't fit inside Label Blaster - which is my Neo G1 Blaster.
It's still a maybe, though. He does look a whole lot like the cartoon model. So we'll see. Hopefully they'll correct this issue, though.

What cassette are you guys talking about? Isn't this topic for the Decepticon combining cassettes? What do they have to do with Blaster?
