Could use some little help
- Motto: "If you feel my lightning, you will never hear the thunder."
I have two G1 Jazz figures, in which I think one of them is pre-TF but I am not sure. I do not have any pictures of the two. One of them has the rub-sticker and the one does not. Can the rub stickers come off? The place where the rub sticker would have been is extraordinary smooth. There are no Autobot symbols. This one has Takara on it with 1980-1984 date. The other one has Hasbro and Takara on it with the same dates. If you want pictures, I will try my best.

thank you for your help. I did not know that I had this figure in my collection if it is truly a diaclone/pre-TF figure. I got him complete a month ago.

Yep the very first generation of g1 figures that coinsided the season one of the show didn't have anu rub symbols. They add the rub symbols as a sort of proof that these figure were true hasbro transformers because ko's had become common place by then.

Rub signs werent used on the first figures released.I dont think they were used till the 2nd wave of Dinobots were released.
The rub signs did have a habit of falling off on some figures.Mostly any of the one that it was placed on a curved part.
None of the first wave Transformers released had a Haspro mark printed on the back.I thing most of the 2nd wave [not to be confused with 2nd season] didnt have it ether. When Hasbro first put the series together they just re-boxed exsisting Takara products from Takaras back stock. When they started producing new figures from the molds is when the Hasbro trade mark started to appear on the toys.
I dint know how to tell you if its truly from the diaclone line or a re-boxed into a TF release one.

Nice score ... I'm jealous!
I'm not a G1 person, but I'm thinking about getting Encore Jazz. He is just too cool.
