Re: First Look at Animated Starscream Figure In-Package
After all this long discussion, and seeing the pics and different stuff that has been posted on www about all animated toys etc. I feel that Armada Hot Shot needs more attention, actually looks so cool right now!... I even want to hug him, wow, I am going to cry!
Let's get serious here, this is not a matter of being an obsess collector, that you must buy what every garbage is thrown on the wall, this is a matter of good taste, a matter of keeping things on the positive side of the graph, I have seen some many complains all over many websites, that I have no clue if something like this happened in past, where, fans, get so divided... I mean TF's fans, quite interesting position.
Again not a matter of buying just because, buy it if you really like the ugliest toy TF's toy line so far, well at least Hasbro got a "top of the line" series... of course on the dark side of the forge... not even force

and before going to sleep... on the back of the box, there is a little portion that says:
"kids don't try this at home, alcohol and drugs could cause deadly damage to the rest of your toys like this one"

actualy fans being devided happen every time something new and diffrent happens in transformers. usualy follwed by rampant hate and flame throwing and the occasional death threat.
as for me, i was kinda likeing the robots when i first saw them, because i kinda like off the wall type stuff. and no, i dont like starscreams jay leno chin. that being said however, after watching the cartoon, it actualy works. and seeing how much total ass-kick-ness starscream laid down in that show, it makes me desire this toy with renewed vigor.
Would i desin transformers to look like this? no, those who have seen my art know that. would i buy every toy out there? atm, i want every toy ive seen so far, but theres a ton of movie toys i dont own, for as badass as the movie was, theres just some toys i couldnt force myself to like.
im not one who buys every tf there is just for collectings sake, in fact, a lot of us are way too poor to do so. my issue is, we dont have to buy every toy, and people get angry and violent and act like thier childhood is raped because theres something new out there that they dont have to like or buy.
but give it a try before you hate it all together. you might be surprised, cases in point, beast wars, tf movie 2007.
and remember, ther transformers universe is so huge, that we went and made up 10 bazillion alternate realities just to explain everything. so theres something out there for everyone.

"They're playing with him... and when they're done they're going to play with me.... OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!"

Looks pretty cool. I wonder if it will be 20 bucks like the movie voyager?... Speaking of good deals, at my local Wal-Mart I just bought a masterpiece Starscream for 30.00, and an Ultimate Movie Bumblebee on Clearance for 49.99!! Can you believe that?, a figure that is still going for 100 bucks on Ebay, and it was on clearance at my local Wal-Mart!

Wooo!!!!! Funny coloured, oddly shaped toy packaging returns! I haven't been so happy about an oddly shaped box since the Armada series!

I don't like the box at all. Blech.
I do like the figure though, a must buy.

Meh, I kind of like that alt mode - those swept forward wings give Screamer a sort of Su-47 Berkut vibe, and that's a cool plane... but the robot mode ain't so flash in my opinion, it reminds me of like a revoltech of some anime character I've never heard of.
Have Thundercracker and SS been melded into the one character?
The whole design asthetic of the new series doesn't really do it for me, it's like Samurai Jack and Teen Titans made a bastard love child and some TF DNA got squited into the mix...

Hmm, true for as well! Every time I look/watch Animated, I just smile at its childish ways, just makes me feel like a raging maniac kid again

Supersonic aircraft sometimes have the wings the other way round because something you'd need to get an aeronautical engineer to explain happens to the movement of air when you paass through it above a certain speed. It makes aircraft more manoeuvrable I believe.
I thought the jet nose looked a bit stumpy in other pictures, but it looks okay here. I look forward to seeing this guy on UK shelves... in... autumn?

It's reminiscent of the Armada Seekers without the long-ass back kibble, but still has a G1 feel to it.
Other than being too blueish I really like this screamer. He's a lot more blue-gray in the actual show.
I'll probably try to get 2 and repaint one a bit more gray.

Yeah, just to throw my two cents in regarding forward sweep wings - it gives the aircraft amazing maneuverability at subsonic speeds(particually while in dives) which let it change direction quickly, either to dodge enermy fire or to rapidly deliver a payload onto several different targets in the coarse of one dive.
The Germans pioneered the technology in WWII with the experimental Ju287, a jet powered medium dive bomber and the Soviets continued their research postwar and thus the Russian aviation industry leads the world in not only swept forward wing technology but arguably air frame design in general.

Who the **** told you that? I have been a miantainer on the U-2 for 10 years in the USAF. And I guarentee you that AMERICA leads the way in airframe AND powerplant design.
Starscream is a copy of the AMERICAN DESIGNED X-35.
