I saw three of him at Wal-mart today. At first I was against getting any repaints until the Premium version, but I broke down and got him. I'm kinda glad I did too.
The paint job, while it still has some flames, is different. With the silver stripes running from the grill to the cab, it's like a mix between the movie and G1 paint schemes. I have noticed that some spots on the figure aren't painted like they were on the original. So far I've seen spots on the back of the cab and toes that aren't painted.
I've also noticed that a lot of the joints on Nightwatch are tighter than the original version's joints, and fender bits that fold into his back fit better than on the original. The gun on the original needed to be held in place by the shoulder armor, whereas Nightwatch doesn't need this. Now I have noticed that the upper bicep joints don't ratchet on mine. This could be an assembly error, or it's just mine that has this.
Overall, it's a new version of the movie look. There's a few flaws with the paint, but a the toy is a bit better quality than the earlier version. I'm optimistic about the Premium version.

Re: I just picked up Nightwatch Prime...
I haven't opened mine yet but I would agree that visually Prime looks great. I thought in intial pics he looked too bright and almost a sky blue color, but this one is more steathy and darker.
I told myself I would not buy any of the Allspark repaints, but now have the Nightwatch (aka Batman) Prime, First Strike Prime, and Evac. There all great.
On a side note, I like how Evac has the numbers "10-15-07" on his side - the date the movie came out on DVD.

I saw him for the first time yesterday. Not a bad looken repaint, If my current prime breaks, then I'll get Nightwatch or Premium.

I saw three last week and I agree they are a nice repaint but I'll wait for the Premium version since I haven't bought the leader prime yet.

I saw 2 at a Wal-Mart by me. I have to admit it was a lot better looking that in the pics. If I wasn't on a major budget crunch I probably would have gotten it...

I have him too (still unopened),
and am very impressed.
I'm glad I skipped the original, and really don't plan on buying the Premium at this point.
IF I were going to buy another Leader Class fig., it would probably be Deep Desert Brawl.
And as others have said, Nightwatch is not nearly as bright as his stock photos show, and thankfully is a lot less "cheery" looking.
Imo he looks awesome!!
Even though I'm not a fan of repaints, since I have a Voyager Prime, I'm extremely happy I have this gem.

Yeah, if I didn't already have Prime I would have gotten it. I'm not sure I can be as strong when I find DD Brawl though....

I have Nightwatch and I think he is worth every penny! I also have the regular Prime and they complement each other well. Nightwatch's coloring is so different that he does not seem like a repaint at all. He is awesome and I will be getting the Premium as well.

Re: Review of Nightwatch Prime...
i just recently found a nightwatch prime at my WM, sitting all by itself. it looks pretty cool, still in its box, but i like the color s, reminds me of ultra magnus.
im interested in getting a premium OP, wondering if it will be worth it thou to get. i never collected any of the Movie figs (just classic line) but the repaint of offroad ironhide looked cool too with its coloring. when does preimium line start?

It sorta already has: There were two Best Buy exclusives. I have seen a few pics of Jazz, IH, Blackout, BB, OP, etc - but I don't recall a date being announced yet for these non-exclusives...

Don't forget come-and-gone Robo-Vision Prime(Target), and the upcoming Deep Space Starscream(also Target).
With the exception of DS Starscream, Premium toys are going to be mixed in with future Allspark case assortments, at about a 50:50 ratio. I wouldn't expect to start seeing them show until late Mar/early Apr.
I told the fire to go **** itself, and it did.
