Are you sick of the movie figures to?
I was at target today and all I saw was movie toys a dozen or so leader megatron's, nightwatch optimus prime, leader brawl and so on so forth. I wish they would just end the f***king movie series of figures and movie on to the next round of figures. Because if I see one more repaint of optimus prime I'm going to go stark raving mad. While a little way up the isle from the transformers movie figures they had the G.I. joe 25th Anniversary figures they were all new. I don't get why hasbro would keeping trying to push movie figures when they aren't selling as well as they used to. I would love to hear other peoples take on this situation.

You know, a few months ago I wouldn't have guessed I would be saying this, but YEAH!!! MOVE ON ALREADY!!! This line has to go on extra time just because it's the biggest Transformers thing in history. They keep trying to milk every last bit of money out of new fans before the kids toys come.

Doesn't really bother me. It is kinda nice to have a little break from toy hunting. Also, unlike most, I am looking forward to the Premium series since I sold my MISB non-premium collection to make space for the new and hopfully improved line up.

Re: Are you sick of the movie figures to?
It just occurred to me. I never got to gloat!
Remember around August when sooo many people were complaining about toy availability and were freaking out because they thought they would never ever get to own a concept BB? Remember when a few of us tell ya'll that within 6 months there would be posts complaining about too many movie toys?
Well, we were right!! Hah! So no complaining about Animated or Classics 2.0 availablility 'cause I will link back to this thread. Muahahahahaha

Yeah I remember when people were complaining about not being able to find concept bumblebee and arcee but now that is just about all you can find along with a few lens heads. I'm glad I was one of people who was patent because I knew this would happen that is why I asked the question. I looked at first couple of Premium series figure today and it didn't do anything for me. Granted they were a bit shinner and bumblebee head was different but that was about it. The other thing I saw today was playset things that come with tow truck and top half of bumblebee, barricade and whatever the guys name is.

I saw bb and jazz on the front of the rack I'm sure if looked behind the other figures I would have found more premium figures.

No, not at all, and frankly there is alittle too much whining about it on the boards anymore. This line is barely 8 mos old, and everyone is "tired" of it. Talk about short attention spans.
Energon and Cybertron were both 2-yr lines, with just as many repaints, if not more, than the Movie line. Some people here speak as if repaints never existed before the Movie. They have been around since the beginning of time, folks, and they will never go away. Get over it.
And, I do not see Hasbro as "milking" the line for all it's worth. It was the most successful movie toy line ever, and it makes sense to increase availability. I'm glad that they are releasing the Premeium series, and I am mostly very happy with the Allspark repaints so far.
If you're tired of the line, take a break. Collect some Nipponese reissues, or Beast Wars, or something. But, for Pete's sake, give it a rest.

Re: Are you sick of the movie figures to?
Personally, it's what got me back into collecting and it's had a retroactive effect on me so far; it's made me seek out to complete all the prior lines i missed out on.
now if they'd only rerelease repainted alternators under the movie line banner... >:)

Stop giving Hasbro ideas |:[ (though more alternators would be cool

Personally, I was a bit tired of the movie line for a while, but I think hasbro has sorta pulled their head out of their butts while still being able to milk this line dry- like a shrewd business should :] The repaints and such at least look a bit more decent than some of the ones we were seeing for a while (recon Barricade, battle damage figures, etc...) and the Premiums will help me finish getting the original movie cast (still need about half of them) without having to pay over nine thousand bucks on eBay for them.
Shockwave would think my posts are logical...

They're ment to be realistic Alien Robots, "real" Alien Robots don't scratch they're asses, nor do they need hands, since hands could be useful.

But Bay said, "This is what real Aliens would look like!", so your statement is WRONG.

Re: Are you sick of the movie figures to?
My movie figures total one, target jazz, i like that toy, he has a great colour scheme, the best head design of all the movie bots, a rather unique use of car parts that i find pleasing, kinda hanging off him but not in a clumsy way oh and a simple though satisfying transformation (lacking the frustration factor of 08BB or barricade, i can do them of course but they are just so fiddly as to not be much fun, i like twist/flip/push/pull transformations more so than pull/push/squeeze/mould ones! the same reason i find alternators low in fun, good for display though) oh i also got real gear phone and camera but they dont count as movie, not really.
Ive already sold my other movie toys (all 3 of them) as i started to dislike them, some tf toys can grow on you and others you like less and some you can eventually almost hate the sight of which i find very odd though true.
Aside from nice bright target jazz there isnt a single standard movie toy i like (the legends are quite charming though, one of them has more character than all the bigger toys put together), I dint really like them to begin with but bought a few that i felt were some of the better looking ones and for the novelty of it all. With time though im seeing the movie toys as 1)over detailed 2)having clumsy, ugly robot modes 3)just plain dull 4)arcee in particular is a hideous looking bot.
the repaints and ressurection of average energon/cybertron moulds into the bargain makes it worse.
I cant wait for some of those fun looking ones to appear, the ones with the bright colours and big chins, the ones that automatically bring a smile to my face when i see them (strange but true)........
