A different look for Classics Galvatron?
I picked this digibash up a few weeks ago from someone who was displeased with Hasbro's colours for Classics Galvatron:
http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/2966 ... on2eo0.jpg
From what we've seen, there's every possibility this digibash could become a reality in the Henkei line. But I pointed out that this repaint might compromise the colour scheme of the tank mode. He said he didn't care.
Is that how you feel? Do you think Takara will release Galvatron in the above colours, and if so will you dismiss a few awkward colours on his alt mode?

He seems like a shellformer to me, Purple body then all grey tank mode. They should make him nearly all purple and black. A purple tank with black details would look kick ass in my opinion.

It would change the altmode's color, cos it looks like the arms form the top of the tank, similar to deluxe twopack megs.
I don't really care which of the two will be the final version, the only thing that pisses me of about that toy is, that it's a deluxe and that ugly orange plastic in the joints! Seriously who the hell had the idea for that?
Actually looking true the seibs gallery, it may happen the way he wants it, since that toy we see there is just a hand painted prototype, till now I haven't seen a painted proto that actually looked 100% like the final product.

I like the nod to G1 and all, but I can live without a "perfect" faithful to the cartoon Galvatron.
So, if this digibash were to end up in Henkei, you can bet I'd pass.

It's not bad. I definately like the second version better. The orange looks horrible!

It's too small. It's too orange. It's too wimpy.
To me, it doesn't embody who Galvatron was, and is. In every series he has appeared in, Galvatron has been the ultimate bad guy- badass, awesome, deadly.
This figure will sit nicely with Titaniums- where he's more or less in scale- but for classics, I want at least a voyager.

Bad news: Galvatron is a deluxe.
Good news: He’s the first Galvatron since the G1 toy that is not a repaint of an existing mold.
I would have hoped for him to be bigger, but guys, that’s a pretty big title for this figure and about the colors, compare the stock photos of Blaster to the show photos and you’ll notice there’s more red on the one at Toyfair, so Galvatron may always change…

Exactly, Galvatron wasn't a purple shrimp nor a repaint of Megatron, he was raw power, pure and untamed. He turned into a plasma cannon that could obliterate an autobot even without making a direct hit, his sheer force and power cannont be compacted into some gray and orange deluxe tank. He needs to be a Voyager, plasma cannon with G1 accuracy to ensure every bit of his awesomeness is captured in detail. Galvatron turning into a deluxe tank would be like Rodimus Prime turning into a dirt bike, it's just plain wrong.

The difference is negligible. It's still easily identifiable as Galvatron even without the changes, not worth waiting for a more expensive import IMO.

*groan* I think you people are taking the issue of Galvatron's size way out of proportion. (No pun intended.) I mean, let's face it: you're only arguing over a few inches. What counts is the design of the toy, not how big it is. Didn't your parents ever teach you that size doesn't matter?

Couldn’t we just say he’s a super powerful tank now? I mean maybe its just me, but I’ve always felt that if you want G1, nothing is more like it than G1 itself, so go enjoy yourself a bucket full of G1 toys!

Don’t get me wrong, I agree with you. It’s not really size that matters, it’s the toy itself. I just meant that if anything, that would be the only problem with the toy. I think a lot of people just aren’t giving these figures a chance.

I've known you for less than 24 hours, but you already strike me as one of the most stubborn, shallow fanboys I've met, Sylus. How is Galvatron's alt mode 'plain wrong'? A cannon is essentially a big gun on wheels, just like a tank. I bet you must have been the first (and only) fanboy to cry bloody murder that Classics Bumblebee is not a VW Beetle.

I'm happy with a tank (even though I'd prefer a more cybertronian tank- humans were beneath Galvy), but the size just doesn't give him that air of power.

I for one am looking forward to doing a photo comic featuring Galvatron with short man syndrome.
It'll be like FMA, only with Galvatron instead of Ed.

You're an idiot.
I don't care that BB wasn't a VW Bug, he looks cool as what he is now cuz it's close to what he used to be. Galavatron, a leader of an entire faction, is a tiny little tank, that's what doesn't seem right. I still have faith that a Voyager class Galvatron will be released someday.

You haven't even seen the size of Galvatron in person, and yet you're already calling it a catastrophe. Besides, Galvatron was always the same size as most other Transformers in the cartoon. Take Grimlock for example. He was slightly bigger than the average Autobot, yet his Deluxe toy didn't seem out of scale with the rest of the line. The same could apply to Galvatron, but you won't even give it a chance. Which one of us is the idiot?

And here you are again throwing a fit like you always do, sir, please, calm down. There is no need to call names and when you do, you start to take the fun out of what could be an intelligent conversation.
Every time you post now your either complaining, cursing or calling names and all your doing is making a fool of yourself.
Stop.

I guess I'm in the minority, but I really like this Galvatron. The bot mode is much more faithful to his toon appearance than the original G1 toy, and I never was a fan of the futuristic cannon alt mode. I thought it was weird even as a kid.

My only real problem with Galvatron is the realitive size of the toy. A few inches means a lot when the figure is only a six inches tall. I like the figure. But next to Classics Magnus he'll be chest high, tops. And Magnus in the Upgrade armor? Forget about it!
