Henkei versus Universe/classic 2.0
Does anyone know Kenkie will release all or most of figures which are being released under Universe classic ? For example would we see Octane or Powerglide under the Henkei line?

Probably but not for a while. Henkei is currently working on releasing the first set of Classics. They've only just announced they'll release Sunstreaker.
So its likely they'll release the rest, but not before they are released by Hasbro in America.

I think eventually, all Hasbro Classics will come out in Henkei series.
So, is this a Henkei vs Classics thread?
Or a Will-all-Classics-be-released-into-Henkei thread?

I would assume Henkei will try and make all of them eventually, but like someone said, it'll just be a while.
All it means is that now I'll wait to get 2 of each fig. until I see Henkei's versions.
But because of Henkei's prices, I'll still get one Hasbro version for sure.

I sure hope they do.
I just got home and found Henkei Prime had finally arrived. I've got to be honest now...(MAYBE) THE BEST PRIME FIGURE EVER! The classics prime was cool, but the paint scheme was SOOOO bad. Henkei is just beautiful. Its nicer to touch and more accurate. Plus the packaging is top-notch, no stupid plastic ties, easy to open and re-seal and full of character. Hasbro should learn from Takara on this one.
Lets just hope a Henkei Ultra Magnus is released before the UM Armor upgrade is released. Oh and bring on ASTROTRAIN!
I've had way too much plastic crack today!

Henkei vs Classics since this is more like a comparison to see how many and which figures being released under each line.
I'm glad then that every figure will be released under henkei and they take their time simply becuase of the quality and secondly, my wallet is kinda hurt right now so I'm happy to hear.

Aww man, I've been struggling with the decision of getting Henkei Prime or not, he's expensive but the uglyness of the Hasbro one does annoy me, those blue paint apps on the shoulders and the bright yellow really bug me.

Dude, don't worry about a Henkei Magnus... With that armor on, it ain't gonna matter.
And you're right, their version of Prime is amazing.
Logistically the Henkei packaging may be better,
but the overall look I'm not a fan of.
I personally think that the designers are trying to do too much.
It's just too busy for my taste.
Thankfully the figures are more than worth it.
I got my Astrotrain yesterday.
Get one!!!!
Either this evening or tomorrow I'll preorder my Skyfire and Ramjet.

Yeah, even though these are toys, the packaging doesn't need to look cheap.
A little bit more sophistication would be nice.
Oh well...

I notice that too. The Japanese packaging doesn't look so good. Far below the beauty of the original G1 packaging.

Yeah the packaging is a bit busy and a bit tacky. But thats the Japanese style and i think its a bit fun. Esspecially for a collector. I see it as a bit of a novelty.
Plus lets not forget to mention that the Henkei figures come with a little comic (although its in japanese) and a trading card. I picked my prime up for around £20 on ebay, which was CHEAPER than the original classics prime was in most shops. Henkei are pure value for money!

Definitely want the Henkei Prime but damn it is so selling for so much more than the Hasbro version!!
Beginning to question if the cost is really worth this repaint. Anyone else feel the same?

My opinion, the cost is too much.
True, nice painting design.
But both Hasbro and Takara versions are made in China anyway. Possibly by the same Chinese factory. Or by the uncle of the second cousin of the wife of the proprietor of the other factory.
But still, same banana.

Here in Canada the price isn't too much more, but I know where you're coming from. For any Henkei's I buy where I already own the Classic, I'm selling off the Hasbro one to help make up for the cost.

Re: Henkei versus Universe/classic 2.0
The blue and yellow parts on Prime is bugging me too, but I dig the mold so much that I can live with it. So, no Henkei version for me! (same thing goes for Jetfire/Skyfire). I am on the other hand eyeballing Astrotrain a fair bit. And as for Magnus ... well, I'll definitely consider him as I've been too lazy/poor to pick him up so far. But maybe I'll settle with the animated version - thats one good looking bot!

Oh, sorry if I gave you guys the impression that I've seen a Henkei version of Magnus. I'm just assuming that they'll make him, and if thats the case, well, I'll prolly get him instead of the Hasbro version.
My guess for a Henkei version? - they'll get rid of all the blue and go for a more MP inspired coloring. Well, that's my hope anyways ...
