I had this idea years ago about making the matrix sentient if all hope ever failed and as final resort it activates itself and climbs out of the dead autobots carcass that used to house him. Just a quick speedpaint/sketch.

I understand the concept you're going for but if the Matrix were self aware or even self-activating, what purpose would the Prime serve? Or any other Transformer for that matter?

well since it would be smaller then a minicon maybe it would kinda be like a head master......

The Matrix tends to boost the power of it's bearer.

But please don't compare it to a mini-con, that's just insulting to the poor ol Matrix.

Actually, it makes sense. A lot of sense. If the Matrix is a lifeforce, the soul of Primus, that can animate metal to create new transformer life... why not?

Actually, it's also a good reason to have the Matrix's 'holder' thingy. Why else would it need such a thing?

Um, to hold it, maybe? Seriously, I kinda have a default to an adapted version of the Marvel origin of the transformers where they are a race almost solely created to destroy Unicron. Under those conditions, a self aware Matrix would mean no Prime would need to carry the burden. Maybe in the Armada-verse as I never saw the show, but it might have worked in the DW Armada comic. I'm not knocking the idea in anyway, I really like it. I'm just, um, the word my girlfriend just used is "difficult."
