Universe Insecticons names: Kickback, Hardshell, Sharpshot(??)

So there are name changes....

That's so weak and makes it a no for me. Encore style figures should have the original names.

maybe somone owns the rights to those names and habro dosent want to pay?
either way in getting them...i dont need another powerglide

I'm sure that is the reason, but still lame IMO. Oh well, it's still good for folks wanting this set. I'll just stick to my originals.

Anything with "bomb" and "shrapnel" in the name has been changed recently, with the unpopular military action and all going on (too many people hearing about roadside bombs and sharpnel injuries).

Can't these giant mechanical soldiers have some less violent names, like, here's the insecticons, Steve, Joe and Ed.

NOW They release a red usa edition of powerglide!!??!!??!? I ordered the japan release through BBTS cause I hated Hasbro's silver paint job so much . Ah well, money saved is just money spent somewhere else when it comes to my collection.

You think that's bad, imagine living in Mexico where Animated Ultra Magnus was never released, and we have no Toys 'R' US, and the conmemorative series where also never released, I'll just cry until I forget the Insecticons and Perceptor exist and that's gonna take a lot of time.

You forgot to mention that the latter waves if Universe also haven't seen the light day in Mexico. Except for the ridiculous Sam's Club Exclusive Movie Bumblebee Helmet + Universe Figure 2 pack(which include either Cyclonus, Cheetor, or Dinobot)

And only in Mexico could Ultimate BB be going for the equivalent of 150 dollars at Sam's Cub also.

However, mysteriously enough we did get the Toy R' Us Exclusive Movie Whirl vs Bludgeon: Masters of Metalikato box set in Walmarts here.

which is the only reason I have a sliver of hope that the same will be true for the Insecticons.

This is just another example of the PC movement "wimpifying" our society. Probably, some overbearing mother thinks "Bombshell" and "Shrapnel" will warp young minds. Why don't we give them names that reflect our young society today..."Morbidly Obese" and "Ridalin". Sheesh, the names of two toys aren't a problem!

The renaming really bugs me as you can tell. I probably won't buy the set just for that reason.

Does anyone know how much the Insecticons and Perceptor will cost? The last reissues I saw at TRU were Ironhide and Ratchet and they were $50 each. Which is absurd IMO.

I prefer my TFC-16 "Insectrons" over this new reissue. Takara even used the real names. But I'll probably pick them up anyways unless they get included as an Encore release.

When the Universe Ultras and Voyagers were on sale a few weeks ago I was tempted to pick up Powerglide but I knew of this release so I waited.

I'll probably end up getting the Insecticons. Though I really wish they haddn't been lazy to give us a re-release rather than new molds. I would have loved to see a modern take on these guys.
