Transformers Animated debut at NTFA cut short
Groundsplitter from ntfa.net has posted some bad news from the NTFA Minicon held on the 3rd and 4th of November:
We regret that we will have to back out on the exclusive showing of the first episode of Transformers: Animated at the Arlöv Mini-Con this weekend. Both we and Hasbro Nordic thought we had permission to show the full episode, but it seems there was either some miscommunication or just a case of conflicting opinions at Hasbro USA. First one party told us yes, but later another party said no.
We want to emphasize that Hasbro Nordic's manager wanted to make the exclusive showing possible, and thanks to his efforts we can still show a partial preview of the episode, just not the full episode. So you will still get a taste of Transformers: Animated at Mini-Con!
Following this bad news, Groundsplitter posted a short review of what was shown at the NFTA Minicon:
It was a very interesting preview though, and I can tell you that even though I were very sceptical when I saw the first posters for the series a while ago, I think the cartoon may turn out to be quite entertaining. What struck me the most is that it seems all the characters will be portrayed with distinct personalities - a very welcome change compared to the three latest series, were most of the characters were blank slates.
There were also quite a few nods to the old fans - I haven't seen the clips on YouTube so I don't know what has been shown before, but the show actually starts with Optimus Prime looking at some archive clips from the war that ended a few hundred years ago - clips that are taken straight from the original G1 cartoon! And Ratchet is said to have taken part of that war, which poses the question if this is the original Ratchet, or just someone who shares the name.

The beginning of the episode will be awesome!
Optimus looking at archive clips taken from G1 - Brilliant!

It's being made out to be the G1 series rewritten in a Beast Wars style, which has piqued my interest. Beast Wars was an excellent series, from a writing and acting perspective.

i have to agree i was scheptical at first when the poster was released wasnt to fond of the art style to at first until i saw it in action strangly enough surprised we have not heard any voice actors and actresses on whos goiing to protray who in the show.
i dont if you like anime or not venom phoenix but the american version of the powerpuff girls is ok it mainly gets to the small childern attention but the anime version of power puff girls is more attended to the teens who watch the animeversion of powerpuff differnt art stule all togeather if you compare the 2 togeather.

I agree with ashe5k, The show I could see myself getting into. As far as the toys, I highly doubt it. Unfortunatly I can't say I won't be buying any of the toys for the fact my kids are pretty stoked from the clips they've seen on youtube. ;-P

I had thought that this Prime was going to be a younger version...is this not the Optimus Prime from G1 then, but a descendant? interesting....
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

Its kind of like Basic Instinct, but not in a good way...
Goddammit, now I can't unsee it.

I think the art style is a big hurtle for most fans, but so was the art style of the movie and we still loved it. I think anything they do with transformers that puts them out of the "comfort zone" is great. We get to see new and exciting things that have never been done before, and overall, cooler transformers. I have a feeling that the story is going to be the big point of this show, perhaps the best in like what....7 years?

Ratchet seems like he's going to be kind of a mix of old Ratch and Ironhide. That's a little disappointing, since I never saw an Ironhide I didn't like. Still, no big. I'm so pumped I could splode!

So im guessing that this is the son of G1 Prime then. And then Megatron will then have to be the son of Galvatron. If this is the case i like it. Its about time that we get an explination for the diffrent Prime and Megatron.

Then Starscream is the original Screamer?
But maybe Megatron is the original Megatron, since he is older then Prime.
This is getting more and more interesting!

I actually never knew there was an anime version of powerpuff girls. I like anime but it's usually something like Gunslinger Girl or Ergo Proxy. Stuff they don't show Saturday Mornings

Hopefully we will get a Cameo, or one shot episode with Ironhide or Kup in it, the old timers need to make an appearance.
Loving knowing Ratchet is going to be in a bigger role this time around, he never got anything close to what he deserved in other shows.

It can't be the original Ratchet if this is a continuation of G1 because we all saw he got shot and killed by the Decepticons.

Yeah, and didn't the Autobot Mausoleum blow up, or something? Whatever, we'll see where they go with this.
I have a feeling that I'll like the show (I'm hoping for something more like Beasties rather than the last 4 crappy series), but I don't think that I'll be getting into the toys. I don't know, they just look too weird. That being said, I'll probably end up getting a few, anyway.

Didn't stop Furman making the Beast Wars Magnaboss Combiner being the original Prowl, Ironhide and Silverbolt...
