tvshowsondvd.com- An update to what is happening with the new release of Transformers Generation 1 Seasone 1 on DVD. New package art is shown (revised actually), the price has been revealed, pre-orders, and the possible producer.
Here is the link to TVSHOWSONDVD's original story, and a link to the new story, where this information is updated.
Revised Cover for Transformers Season 1: 25th.
"The Transformers - The Complete 1st Season: 25th Anniversary Edition on DVD, bringing a long-awaited re-release of the first 16 half-hours of the original (and legendary) "G1" series. Retailers knew the title of this 3-disc set, and the pricing ($29.98 SRP)..."
"...we were surprised today when an industry source, on condition of remaining anonymous, supplied us with the below 3D look at the package art for this set! As you can see, it's similar to the temp art which we brought you last time (from Walmart.com's listing), but enhanced with all of the titles and logos and such, and the key art has been corrected (Megatron was reversed on the previous image). Shout's logo, although small, is plainly seen on the lower left corner of the spine. Is it accurate artwork, or just fan-made?
Well, besides the source being super-trustworthy from contributions in the past, the title has now gone up for pre-order at Amazon, and the same package art is displayed there. It's also available to pre-order at DVDEmpire, and the listings at both e-tailers say "Shout! Factory"."

Bout time
. So getting this, as I missed the Rhino release, it's less expensive, and if the teaser on the 25th movie was any indication, will be awsome quality wise.

TVShowsonDVD has first information about extras for the first season set.

Now we've learned from Shout!'s official website that the extras will include Original Hasbro Toy Commercials, a Featurette titled "A Look Back at Hasbro and the Origins of The Transformers", and Concept Art...at the very least, anyway. That might be the full list, but we've heard that the studio is still recording various material. It could be that it's meant for future releases, though, if we're being realistic.

There's some more information about the bonus features of the set. The most important thing though is that the audio for the set is going to be based on the original audio.
