It's FunPub. It's their specialty.

In other words, I'll only get vintage TF;s for nostalgia's sake and nothing else.
Personally, I'll always prefer modern TF's to vintage ones. Even as a kid, I didn't like the lack of articulation and screen-accuracy of the original G1 toys.
Modern TF's all the way.

If the Classics version is a repaint, I like to match details between the two. Funny you mentioned Darkwing, as I find him one of the most well thought-out repaints in terms of accuracy. You could say Silverbolt was preplanned to be eventually repainted into Darkwind

- TR Furos (Hardhead's head) and Crashbash (lost him
- PotP Punch head
- TR Galvatron right arm (the gun one)
- CW Brake-Neck/UW Wildrider, CW Offroad
- TR Twinferno & Grotusque
- Greenlight, Lancer and PotP Elita-1
- Legacy Core Slug, Sludge & Snarl
- Spare CW HFGs (Air Raid/Skydive)

There just seems to be more thought put into them back then. Plus there was a wider variety of characters and molds.
Today's TF's ... i'm not a big fan of the aesthetic.

pretty much same here. I like how Hasbro made new versions of all the figures from the vintage Star Wars line, and would love it if they eventually did the same for the Transformers.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

I agree on the most part with this.
I guess partly because I grew up in the Beast Era, too.

I'm a more of a vintage fella myself but i like to have an updated version to go with it much like JelZe stated. Good updates though, like the Classics releases. Not so much the movieverse or other recent lines.

I'd joking retort "how could there be more thought when they simply recycled old toys", but now that I think on it, the original TFs definitely seem more designed to be fun toys rather than how today they are designed to be accurate representations of on-screen characters. You just don't get the quirkier stuff like motorized movement, giant TFs, that certain play value the original Megatron and Shockwave had, Reflector, etc..

What's that kids? Your toys don't look like how they do on tv?
Then use your bloody imagination!
I get some people LIKE that they're "cartoon accurate" ... but it comes at a sacrifice of imagination, and some can be very hit and miss when it comes to the fun of transformation from either far too simplified to far too complicated.
