Not really. Kids will be able to recreate all those famous "where did Prime's trailer go?" scenes.
Even though I have plenty of G1 Prime's, I do want to pick this up simply for the fact that it's different, the packaging is new, it's "a Prime that's never been done before".

That, unfortunately, is never going to happen. Hasbro aren't in the business of making a realistic gun toy anymore.

2) It has been an issue in the past that knock-off releases have been spread as a rumor of a legitimate reissue. Its also been a problem that sometimes a reissue is faked before its even hit the shelves - Encore Metroplex being a good example
I'm also very glad I appear to be wrong. Even if that leaked image has all sorts of inconsistencies about the box...

I think you very well could be right about the box being a mock-up, though. My best guess, based on the Google translation of the original post, is that these pictures were taken at a booth of a trade show or expo in Taiwan. Hasbro may not have finalized the box design, which isn’t too hard to imagine if this release is still months away.
I doubt it. I think it’s too late in the game to make changes now. I expect this box to be the new design moving forward.ZeroWolf wrote:Wolfman Jake wrote:Amelie wrote:1984forever wrote:2) If it doesn’t make dollars then it doesn’t make sense. I will second this, the reissue is real but this box will undergo other changes till it falls in line with the others.

New years special is still the best version yet imho.
Not really a reissue if it doesnt include his trailer but nice to see and have different price points. Megatron with out his stock would be weirder tho even if it looks like that could be a possibility now.
Wouldn't it more likely sit on a shelf like Hot Rod's reissue?ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Biggest sign that this box is a mockup for demonstration purposes: No hole punched in it for a shelf peg

Exactly what I was going to point out. I remember the G1 boxes being stacked on the shelves, not hanging from pegs. This box will wind up in the hands of many customers as is before changes -if any- are made.Sabrblade wrote:Wouldn't it more likely sit on a shelf like Hot Rod's reissue?ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Biggest sign that this box is a mockup for demonstration purposes: No hole punched in it for a shelf peg

It'd be pretty funny if they released him in the "with trailer" packaging, only to have an empty clam shell and call it "invisible mode"Burn wrote:Kids will be able to recreate all those famous "where did Prime's trailer go?" scenes.
I'd actually love to see that. The quality of the last Brutireissue was awful. And these newest reissues have had top notch QC.Amelie wrote:If they reissue Bruticus again...
I'm not trying to argue against this things legitimacy (since now it's confirmed), but I would like to point out that there's fan made custom boxes and reproduction boxes all over the interwebs. If someone wanted to fake this, they could. And it doesn't even mean someone was trying to "hoax" us. Just sayin.1984forever wrote:Who profits from this hoax?
Yup, sure did. I bet a POTP Predaking that the Bumblebee movie wouldn’t make $400 million worldwide. Burn bet the removal of some unwarranted warnings or some such minor crap. It’s sad that fans expect this movie to be the lowest grossing of the entire lot , I didn’t come up with that number, I just agreed to it. It’s also sad that now people are arguing about how I could have been wrong about the G1 Prime reissue not being fake. Putting that particular pic together would cost a scammer a little bit of money to get those unreleased toys together along with his fake boxed Prime fig. I think a scammer would prefer his creation sell on eBay rather than be content to have it ogled for free on Facebook.ZeroWolf wrote:Or you could be wrong...speaking of which didn't you make a bet with Burn regarding critical appraisal of Bumblebee?
