Just saw this at a super walmart in Port Richey fl. They have a sign showing that they are releasing ROTF figures on 5-29-09 at 5pm.

That's gotta change. Do you know how crazy it will be to have a release of figures at 5:00pm? That store's going to be crowded as is and they want to have a ton of people hang out at the toy section waiting for ROTF at 5:00 on the dot?

I remember the Star Wars Clone Wars release - Walmart had a black tarp covering the area they were going to allot for SW figures and then just before the midnight release they were going to stock it. This almost seems impossible for a 5:00pm release. Are they going wheel everything out and start building the endcaps and displays at the time?

Sounds like a disaster.

Mass chaos will ensue.. All of my wal marts are putting them out at night. thats when most of the collectors inmy area come out anyway.5pm though? Thats Madness!!!!

I was in that same store on Saturday when I seen that sign

i went to a handful of walmarts today, and did not see that sign in any of the other walmarts.

It;s been my experience that alot of walmarts don't always do what the next one will do.. I have 3 wal marts in my area within 10 minutes of each other.. I went to 1 on wednesday and they had the Animated deluxes marked down to 7.88, go down the road and tanother walmart doesn't.. None of mine have signs up either.. Maybe it's their way of dealing with collecotrs who ask employees to look in the back for them.. Much like target seems to be doing..

I checked the Super Walmart on 54 and Little Rd and thay didn't have the sign up either

Hows this for funny... I go to my local wal mart , at least the one local one I like going to and they have up a sign stating that the ROTF figures will be out on the 29th but at 11pm..Which is great for me since running a resturant is a full time job. The funny part was they had The ROTF robot heroes BACK out on the pegs, along with the BB kids costume and the BB plasma cannon.. I asked a guy who was working in the toys section and he told me that they were "Sizing the shelves".. Kinda makes sense but i think I was shocked to actually hear a somewhat intelligent answer..I'm so used to, Durrrrrrr I dunno. Oh they had the ROTF party set available too, for a whopping 45 bucks

i work till 2 am friday so ill be going then i wont have a crowd to deal with

It's probably something that the manager at this particular Walmart came up with, not a nationwide thing.

I went to the release of animated toys and i basicly had to fight off somones mom for voyager starscream and deluxe prime. She kept hitting me with her purse so i pushed her back, grabbed those to and ran for the checkout. What makes people go crazy like this?

Yeah I called my local Wally World today, and they said they are releasing the figs at 5pm on Friday, too. I can't wait. I'm taking my lunch at 4 so I can leave work early!

I work second shift 2:30pm till 11pm so i can't get to Walmart till almost midnight anyway. ill get what i can find, then hit Target and TRU in the morning.

not making it up only 1 walmart in st louis was selling them early and i stood in the ropped off line for 1 hour.

I work sunday morning at my target in Carrollwood so I'm hoping to get Sideswipe if i'm lucky

Good luck I know that Port Richey Target isn't great with figures

The only thing I got good there was the Vader Transformer on clearance for $20

But that TRU is pretty good though

I'll just swing past the couple WM's that are on my way home from work tomorrow evening and see what they've got. *crosses fingers*

I just contacted various Walmarts in my area and according to the managers and toy department employees alike they will be selling revenge of the fallen figures starting tomorrow May 29th. One store (Walmart in Quincy IL) said they will have the figures out and able to buy by 9am. A couple other Walmarts said they would have theirs out by 7am and 5pm (Keokuk IA) and (Macomb). If anyone else has any idea about when their local store are putting out ROTF figures please post times and dates below.

I don't mean to be an ass, but there's another topic about this. However, it's good to hear that other Wal Marts are busting out the merchandise tomorrow instead of the 30th. I've called Target and TRU and they've all either played stupid or said wait until the 30th. For some reason, I didn't think to call Wal Mart. From my experience though, I'd call tomorrow right before I leave because the employees tend to lie about release dates for some reason. Last week, 2 Wal Marts told me they'd sell it to me on the 27th and when I showed up yesterday, BOTH Walmarts claimed the stock never arrived (yea right).

So yea, I hope this is true for all Wal Marts, but I'd definitely call before I'd waste my gas.

Just called my local WM to see when they were going to start selling their ROTF figures, the lady who answered said, "well we already have some out, and I think they all go on sale May 30th." Interesting, since I was just there 30 minutes ago and the only thing out was some TFA pegwarmers. Annoying that people who work in the toy dept seem so clueless about a major release. I find my job boring as hell, but if someone ask me a question I can give them a definitive answer.

Well that Super Target has taken business from us but we are on Dale Mabry and I just grabbed my Cliffjumper from my Target on sunday
