THIS IS NOT A THREAD ABOUT THUNDERCRACKER OR RANDOM SEEKER #15! There is a great thread about Thundercracker here.

This is about figures that so obviously harken to particular characters yet are never repainted into the character in question.

I'll start with Cybertron Hardtop. This guy should have been repainted at some point into Beachcomber once in his 2 repaints. No remold required whatsoever. Easy money.

What are some others? I leave it for you.

PS I know there are some similar threads about repaints, but none are currently trying to start the same discussion (half go on about TC and the other half seem to bitch about repaints).

I always figured Alternators Rumble would get repainted as Frenzy at some point.

Why Armada Red Alert, or even Cybertron Red Alert, haven't been turned into a pseudo-Trailbreaker is beyond me.

WFC Soundblaster... TIME PARADOX! But really, there should always be a Soundblaster for every Soundwave that exists. Admittedly I have yet to buy a Soundblaster, but they all tend to be a teeny bit out of my price range, or don't appeal to me quite enough to bother with. A WFC version probably would though.

A few people have done this as a custom already, but i think it deserves a 'proper' release - Cybertron Evac as SG Galvatron.

No need for that now though.

But Cybertron Optimus Prime as Guiltor. Heck, just any Prime into Guiltor, but the Cybertron version would work best because...

It's a flat-ish nose truck with giant cannons on the back. He's got big guns. The "Galaxy Force Optimus Prime Repaint" is very close in color scheme, all they needed to do was add a con symbol and yellow curvy lightning bolt thingy's and boom, close enough without a new mold.

However, David Willis(of Shortpacked) did say on his blog that Animated Swindle bears a good resemblence to Guiltor. Add a new head and I totally agree. It would work even better than Cybertron Prime.

So in essence....anything to Guiltor. They can call it Nemesis Prime on the box, so long as it has that red/black color scheme, and is a 'Con.

Duke, there's no need for most of them now. Why bother with Tracks from C Hotshot since their making a new Tracks anyway? Mkall already mentioned the Trailbreaker from C Red Alert but other than that, it almost seems like they're trying to put us customizers out of business! :lol:

I remembered another couple: Oil Slick and Cy-Kill from the upcoming Wreck-Gar.

these threads always show which people are car guys and which aren't. the alt mode for the CJ mold in no way makes a good lotus Esprirt. now that's my opinion but being close to the car they should be is more important to me than the fact that it has a trunk backpack and car feet.

Dude, I agree with the Runamuck and Runabout. A head re-mold would be nice. I'd buy em again for sure.

This has been done with customizers, but they need to make a Swindle repaint of Universe Hound.

I'm an unabashed Swindle fan but I don't see the Hound repaints. Removing the grill for the chest to fold down makes him too short in the torso and his feet seem huge(-er) by comparison. After Munitioner and Animated, I'd like to see Hasbro do one that matchs the Sunbow animated model as much as possible.

But whatever Swindle they put out, I'll by it. I even bought the PCC Combaticons for the Swindle drone.

I'd like to see GF-Nitro Convoy (Override) redone as Moonracer, Elita-1, Flareup or Chromia as seen in "The Search for Alpha Trion".

Not "No Brainers" per se, but the aesthetics match IMO and the mould hadn't seen much use.
