Not sure I fully understand your post, middle-aged (teen)? The last thing I want to do is turn this into an Animated love/hate debate, but to say almost everyone from any one demographic looked down on it wouldn't be accurate. Seems to me TFA was pretty successful, they are still releasing figures from the line and Japan is about to get the line as well. Not to mention TFA is finally getting us a decent Arcee! If anything I would say the design borrows heavily from WWI, with just a splash of TFA.

I think it makes perfect sense to create a toy line based around the game. If they can make one based off a 2 and a half hour long movie that only had the actual Transformers on screen maybe 75% of the movie (or less), why not one based off of a game? Your average game has around 10 hours of play time in it, and it would have robots on screen at ALL TIMES.

If Hasbro can release a toy for $100 dollars based off a character who had a collective screen time of maybe 10 minutes, I'm pretty sure they can get away with selling a few deluxe/voyager figures from this game. Considering there have been Halo, Legend of Zelda, etc. action figures, I'm pretty sure these would sell just fine.

Hmm. I'm slightly more interested after watching the video, but I really didn't like Megatron's design that much. I have very mixed feelings about this being the next toyline.

Hmmm... War for Cybertron game, possible prototype picture, and news of Susan Blu & co. casting....could the War for Cybertron be the next Transformers Cartoon? And if so, perhaps CGI? Definitely food for though...

It just occured to me that Hasbro could well be continuing the multiple eras theme from U2.0/25th into the next 'Classics' line. An odd Legends figure (still looks roughly Legends sized to me) that ties into a game in amongst a mostly G1 homage line sounds more likely than a whole figure range. Of course I'd still like for the next instalment of 'Classics' to be G1centric but we'll have to see what happens by Botcon/SDCC next year when we start to really see what's ahead.

At the very least, OP's alt mode from the in-game vidcap looks cool.

Don't know if I'll like the game or the rest of the toyline, but I'll probably at least buy OP.

NO! Nononono! No CGI! I hate all those CGI TF shows! I hated Beastwars, beast machines, energon, and cybertron! CGI cartoons ruin life for me, and it pisses me off that there are no more 2-d cartoons anymore

A counter-example how good CGI can look like: Futurama. A lot of the models used in the show was CG.
