Shoot, I forgot all about that! We still have the last two Golden Disk figures to go!
I want to gush a little more over Kingdom/Legacy Blaster. He so perfectly fits the look/style I'm going for with my modern G1/Generations collection. Blaster nails the G1 look in both modes while still being a modern update at the same time, with sculpted surface detail and tech greebling, that stays pleasingly faithful to the G1 character model and alternate mode. More than that, Blaster is a SOLID figure. He's got heft and strong, sturdy plastic, plus very tight joints all around. The articulation is what we've come to expect. I quite like how cleverly the ankle tilt works around the tucked away boombox handle halves on his calves. When an MP Blaster finally comes out, I don't think it could top the clever elegance of this design. The articulation is quite good too, especially in the arms. I also appreciate that he can push his own eject button to summon...Eject.
Speaking of Eject, he's not too shabby. In robot mode, he looks way better proportioned than Siege Rumble/Frenzy. I hope we are getting a redo of those two (maybe in Studio Series '86?). I also hope we get a few more of Blaster's companions sooner rather than later. I know the current rumor is that we are getting Twincast as a 4th wave Voyager in Legacy, with Rewind. I'd like to see a Selects release with Stripes from Siege/Netflix Ravage, Sundor from Netflix Laserbeak, and, if we're really good, maybe a new Steelejaw and Ramhorn. Flip Sides and Rosanna would be easy to do as well.

The remaining cassettes will be interesting. We still need a Buzzsaw for Soundwave, but the siege molds were ganged together so a birdie will always have to go with a kitty unless they came up with a way to untangle the molds. I'd actually prefer Stripes and Buzzsaw over Stripes and Sundor if we can only get one birdie.
I'd like to also see some new molds for Blaster's crew. What I'd really like is a Selects spy patrol for Blaster to fill in some of the gaps, and then a SDCC/Pulsecon type release with 8-10 cassettes with non-clear versions of Rewind and Eject and filling in the blanks for cassette bots who weren't in Siege or Legacy. They could make it a retro package and look like the old cassette cases you would have in the car in the 80's.
I figure they are going to have to do something, especially is Soundwave is going to get a re-release. It would make no sense to have him out again with very limited cassette options.

8-10 is a lot of tapes in one box, but I'm right there with you. Ramhorn and Steeljaw are the ones I want the most, but Slugfest and Overkill remain outstanding too. I would buy the tape combiners or exclusive redecoes, but I'm not holding my breath for those, and they're not as essential.

I’m not going to be surprised if we get Buzzsaw with the Netflix Soundwave repack coming up in Legacy. It would be a logical parallel with Blaster and Eject. I don’t know what that means for the shared tooling with Ravage, but I bet Hasbro can figure out something. Maybe we’ll get an “Earthmode” Soundblaster with a Ravage repaint like Howlback down the line?

Wait a tic, so now my cassettes are going to be obsolete once again?! lol
Or are these figures based on the new Beast Wars Movie?

Likely only some will be obsolete. Rumble only so far, but Frenzy can't be far behind. The Soundwave re-release is said to come with a cassette, but we don't who yet or whether it will just be a re-use of a siege mold or not.

Glad to see people enjoying Tigatron too, hes pretty neat. The slight scale increase really helped solidify that transformation scheme. The gut gun separating is kinda .. baffling? Specially when you look at one of the pieces. Most of the Kingdom Voyagers have great though, hopefully that continues in legacy

The SIEGE cassettes were obsolete 35 years before they came outTill-all-R1 wrote:TF-fan kev777 wrote:We have a Core SS86 Rumble in the leaks, who I assume will be blue, and a Red Frenzy can't be that far behind from that mold. Only Kingdom toy I have thus far is Rodimus Prime. Who I am very much enjoying having - he looks awesome and he's fun to play with; his larger size makes the transformation complexity feel less fiddly than on SS86 Hot Rod, plus his arm pipes don't feature ill-advised use of ittybitty split pegs where pins would have been smarter.
I do think flat light gray would have worked better than metallic for his face, though; I don't know why (since it works just fine for Ironhide), but actual metallic silver doesn't play nice with Roddy's reds. I also hope somebody does telescoping thighs so he can be one head taller.
But still, he's a very fun toy. I need to start taking pics.

My Slammer is taking forever to get here. It shipped out of Idaho on Wednesday, moved to Nevada the same day and I haven't gotten an update since from UPS. Not sure what's happening, it's listed as having Prime 2 day shipping, but isn't expected to arrive until Friday.

Agreed on this. Puffer has my favorite head sculpt of the mold, I wish Pipes had used that one.

10-12 years ago he would have been called leader class. I wonder if Hasbro would ever consider re-releasing that Galaxy Convoy as a commander class figure? I assume the mold is still usable? I know we got an "update" in Siege, but come on. The original was so awesome. And follow it up with Megatron.ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Yeah, on some figures getting everything fully set makes all the difference.

If the Platinum series was still a thing, we could had re-releases of those two easily. Especially with an original deco.
Just imagine, Cybertron Optimus and Cybertron Galvatron, both in shiny metallic deco. Both would retail at 100$US each easy nowadays.

And yeah, SIEGE "Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime" may be easier to balance but he's a mere shadow of the original (like almost all UT updates so far, with CW Armada Megs being a total joke).
As for the statement that 10-12 years ago, this Rodimus would have been Leader-class... Accurate, but as we all know that era ended after the Dark of the Moon toyline.
