All the TlDr aside, I'm both glad and disappointed that the beasts don't have "combat ports". Glad for clean bots, sad for no bone armors.
Come see my latest creation, the COMPLETE combiner team, Scorponok and his Pretenders, forming SHELLSHOCK

Yes he is.

sol magnus wrote:Who else in Kingdom isn't from Season One of Beast Wars?
Nobody but Shadow Panther (who was still released in Japan's season 1 line), the Fossilizers, and the G1 guys.

Transmutate's in Selects so she doesn't count as part of the main line.

Beast Wars had three seasons:
  • Season 1 - normal organic beast modes
  • Season 2 - Transmetals and Fuzors
  • Season 3 - Transmetal 2s
Kingdom's main line has no toys of characters/character bodies from Seasons 2 or 3.

Okay. It's been a while since I've watched Beast Wars. So, got me there.

But it still doesn't refute that Inferno [fire truck] was somehow not a logical inclusion given the facts of the mold and other anecdotal evidence we've gotten about how we got Beast Wars at all.

Season 1 was about double length compared to the later seasons: 26 Episodes (23 if you combine two-parters) compared to the usual 13. Inferno was introduced in Episode 18, so he definitely feels like a Season 2 character but he's still technically Season 1.

With that said Hasbro may consider Inferno to be different from the Season 1 characters introduced earlier (Airrazor was only introduced three episodes prior, however).
Or maybe they're testing the waters for semi-realistic bugs n such before attempting Inferno, if Blackarachnia and Waspinator sell well, they'll probably consider Tarantulas and Inferno (and rumour has it that Tarantulas is already on the table for post-Kingdom).

To peg onto the sides of the truck mode and give him a sort of Pickup truck bed along with the claw shield.

Now that would be amazing! The Galvatron figure is acceptable, but his chest is too big, by the looks of these shots the cannon will also be too big. And there is also the unnecessary battle damage. This figure needs to be retooled and redecoed into Straxus and maybe even Jhiaxus.

Airrazor has 6 ports to accomodate fossilisers, that's plenty.

I’m liking that canon mode...
After watching the movie tonight I’m convinced this figure is too Purple. While there were a few scenes where he looked a bit on the Purple-side, overall most had him Blue-Violet, & leaning towards the Blue side of that.
But it doesn’t really bother me about this figure.
I really don’t think he’s going to disappoint...
In fact, I remember being surprised at how much I ended up liking Cyclonus in-hand... It was quite a bit more than expected... I wouldn’t doubt a repeat if that same thing happens with Galvatron.
It’s not going to bother me at all dropping $50 for this one!

Extended cannon mode with the arm/gun piece looks awful but I'm wondering if that is for a gun mode with shockwave being too small to use as a gun for anyone other than a toddler.

Not so sure I'm sold on normal cannon mode either, hopefully it has more than one good mode or I might have to wait for RED or Super7 classics.
