Hello fellow seibertronians! I've come to the forums with a specific announcement and call to action. The popular and veteren (into 8 years, older than WoW) Super Powered MMO, City of Heroes, has been hit hard by NCSoft management. Just this last Friday, all 60+ of the game's active developers were laid off on the spot and the game's servers on a two month wind down to their final closure in November. Myself and many thousands of our fellow players, and the developers themselves, think this is totally sudden and unnecessary.

If you wish to help us fight to save our world, it would be appreciated by everyone. Current routes to resolve the coming armageddon are detailed here:

Thanks in advance for those supporting! In these coming months, we'll see that one shall stand, and one shall fall, and this time we don't plan to lose the hero.

I know most of the buzz is around the new, and very fun, transformers game (why wouldn't it be? This is seibertron!) but I just wanted to get word out as best I can.

I don't know if a petition is going to convince Ncsoft to re-hire 60+ people and reopen a game. But if it does, then I will take back what I just said and start one for Exteel.

And if it doesn't work, and you're still hurting for a Superhero MMO, DC Universe Online is amazing. And while I believe COH was also amazing (I never played it but I always intended to) DCUO is the only superhero MMO fully supported by Batman.

I do play DCUO, I got it at launch, but they're not even close to comparable games outside of being a similar genre. The closest game to CoH, functionally, is Champions. DCUO is very limiting compared to the prior mentioned two, with narrowly defined powers, concepts, and customization options. Let's just say I can't be a water-blasting psychic spirit shark in DCUO... but I won't go on that tangent again. I'll just rest it that CoH is a rather unique game in the market for a long list of reasons, so migrating is more difficult than many expect.

probobly be easier to convience them to sell it to the guys who run star trek online. But running champions online AND COH ?? would be intresting. Either way maybe its time to just start making your own like they did with star wars galaxies.
