I seem to be missing some details about Mech Tech weapons. All I see is ludicrously oversized weapons that can't be stored in the figure. What is their point?

That's the million dollar question at the moment. Speculation is they can combine, we just don't know into what, bigger different weapon's platforms, another robot, armor?

Judging from the packaging for the new Voyager OP, they appear to be guns that transform into... guns. :???:

While it's true that they can't be stored inside the alt modes, it DOES appear that they can clip onto the alt modes.

El Duque put it best: that's the million dollar question. We don't know for sure, but recent theories from users say it could be a series of wepons that can be utilized by all of the figures in the MechTech line, so you can swap weapons between your figures. Other theories say they combine into something, which is definitely plausible, but we have no idea what they could combine into. But even more recent theories suggest that they could form a robot or vehicle, maybe the spacecraft seen in the DOTM teaser trailer, which is presumed to be the Ark. The new oversized Bumblebee figure has a very large MechTech apparatus, which to me looks like you can build onto it, but who knows?

Oversized lumps of plastic that get the fanbase up in arms screaming blue murder until they're actually released and the screams of blue murder continue but die down a little and replaced with calls of "awesomesauce" by sheep who just take any crap Hasbro give them.

i heard someone say on tfw that it would form the ark and i think somone said omega supreme
what ever it MIGHT transform into i hope its good

my thoughts are they are large crappy add ons which bring some figures down with random peg holes in alt mode

Yeah, I'm not crazy about the potential peg holes on the figs either. While the past movieverse gimmicks [Automorph and Mechalive] were so-so at best, at least they weren't obtrusive.

I've seen some pics of the new voyager Ironhide fig [he's confirmed a voyager, after a pic surfaced of him posed next to tanker truck Megs and DOTM voyager OP], and those peg holes on his alt mode are HUGE.

That's what I'm thinking. If they do combine I hope it's as awful as the early figures look so I don't feel I'm missing out on something. Damned if I'm gonna buy sh** loads of sh** to get something good!

Personally, The Mech Tech gimmick will the be the death of DOTM toys, i can just see it now! whoever buys these toys is asking for it and i would rather buy FP stuff anyway.

From all the pics i've seen of the new movie toys so far, you would be looking a BIG disappointment i would say.
