I love Animal Farm. Some kids I know hate that book though. Right now, I'm reading "To Kill a Mockingbird".

Oh MAN I know what you're saying. The only book I never finished was back in high school when we had to read _Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man_. F***ing Stephen Daedalus and his obtuse pretentiousness. Mind you, I'd made it through _Moby Dick_ and lived to tell, but I could NOT do Joyce.
In grad school I took a whole course in modernist literature as an act of penance. Forced through both _Ulysses_ and _Finnegan's Wake_.
No 'fun' reading right now: have two medieval/masculinity books to read I need to write reviews for. Dammit--where's a 'vomit' emoticon when you need one?!

I don't know what I'll read after that maybe The Bourne Identity (which the film only shares the charachters and the title).

I really really hate to say this but I had a better time trudging through Walden by Thoreau. I'm just glad I don't have to back there again.

The Bourne Identity is a good book. I liked it better than the movie.

I've seen the cartoon, it was good, didn't read it as book yet.
At the moment I'm reading Lando Calrissian and the Starcave of ThonBoka, it's not bad for one of the earliest SW novels, but not too great for nowadays SW standard.

Ditto. It was a very good series; I just ordered the Swarm War trilogy, and plan on continuing with the Legacy of the Force after that.

Although Dean Koontz's stuff is usaully too formulaic and the love themes too sugary for me to truly be entertained, The Taking was actually quite good. Quite good in fact that I don't remember ever wanting to read a book so much aside from the Zombie Survival Guide.
Stephen King's Dreamcatcher was quite good, too. I'm not usually a forget-the-movie-read-the-book type of guy, but forget the movie. Read the book.

I also recently finished rereading Good Omens (best writing team 3\/4R!)
And at one point a few weeks ago, I was in the middle of all three of these books, plus a fourth!
I forgot to mention that I;m in the middle of teaching The Canterbury Tales, too: Prologue, Nun's Priest's, Pardoner's, and Wife of Bath's tales.

I started doing this last year. I wrote every book I read for fun, and a paragraph or two of what I thought about it. I initially just wanted to track exactly how much reading I did, but it's interesting to track the phases I've gone through--sometimes I feel like non-fiction, sometimes only a pulpy Mike Hammer type novel will do. It's not 'deep' like yours probably is, but it's kinda fun.
Also because I don't have any friends to have a real reading group with. I suck.

What?! How can you pass up all those fart jokes in the Miller's Tale?
I'm teaching Chretien's Arthurian Romances. I used to teach a fantasy novel (Lian Hearn's Across the Nightingale Floor) but I went into a snit last Fall about teaching college students with a frickin' YOUNG ADULT title like they're too stupid to handle like, y'know, real words.
HK, apparently, I misjudged them.
