Hi, I have a pretty big collection of TF's. I've been collecting almost continuously since 1984. I used to use bookcases to display but it's all pretty much been sitting in storage since the last time I moved.
What do you guys usually use to display your collection? I'd especially like to find something that locks since I have kids now. I looked in Ikea and saw some glass cases but they seemed a bit small...I want to get as much of my collection out of storage as I can!
Thanks!
What do you use for collector's cases?

For myself, the premade shelf kits tend to be too small and restricting; except in the case of an ikea Billy where the glass lets you highlight specific figures.
For my set up, i used an adjustable ikea shelf floor to ceiling wall mount with large brackets. On that is painted mdf board to match the wall.
This allows me to free move any shelf to accommodate height of a figure and any specific set up I had in mind for display.
With height being adjustable and the lack of sides , allowing the figures to "spill" over the edge, this allows for it to be as convertible as possible with out being hampered by pre set dimensions.
Good luck with your endeavors and i look forward to future pictures of your shelf progress.

While it isn't the cheapest way to go, for Mini-Cons, Micromasters, Decoys, Mini-Spies, and so on I really like these: https://www.michaels.com/10147365.html
As a general recommendation? Experiment! Once you find decent shelving, you have your template but the rest is open to your imagination. Maybe check toyhax.com and the Toy Stages section. Or wander a Container Store or Ikea for risers and lights for a showcase kind of look. What would it look like to display bio cards or tech specs? It can be a fun journey if you have the space and time, so Martha Stewart this thing and find what will make it yours!

I'm also interested in this, though I have a much smaller collection of roughly 100 figures. For those that have cool display cases, especially decently affordable ones, I would really appreciate pics or links!

I use the billy bookcases in the brown finish with the glass and aluminum doors I can fit all of my classics in two of them and the masterpieces in the third. my movie stuff is in storage since it gives me the option to change it up a bit. when I get a bigger house and a separate room for them ill definitely be getting more.
