What are your thoughts for 5 on 5 tournament play?

Cool! Can you describe them a bit?

I would second the vote for Code of Power. This is a mode where each side takes a turn trying to retrieve a flag from the enemy's base and return it to their own (and then trying to defend their own flag from being taken to the enemy base).

I'd lobby for this mode because it requires the widest set of skills and strategies in the game -- you have to learn how to create a penetrating offense and a secure defense, and how to evade damage as you struggle to carry the flag home (without transforming into vehicle mode).

Countdown to Extinction is very similar to this only both sides play offense and defense at the same time. It could also be a good tournament mode, but I think it requires less strategy. An aggressive team can win by just focusing on offense without ever really having to worry about defensive tactics. In Code of Power, you are forced to play defense on certain turns.

I'd do a bit of all of it. But if you're doing a single mode pick either Team Death Match or Death match and make it a private game. That way you can invite your friends in and duke it out. It shows who's the best killer, which is what I'd assume you'd want for a tourney. Conquest shows off who's the bes team. And the other modes are mostly for fun.
