I wish the 3DS had rumble, that'd be neat. And I am looking forward to SF0, running in co-op mode should be neat (although you're both controlling the same vehicle). The way they have it laid out should be fun! I think there's gonna be a special amiibo too, so why wouldn't I be all over that?!

That's for the best, actually. Adventures was a travesty of the highest order, Assault could have been great, but they bogged it down with a bunch of on-foot missions, and Command is something I keep forgetting existed.

Re: Whatcha' Playing Cary?
OoT is the mammaries! I'm loving it. Truth be told Transformers: Earth Wars is eating a lot of my time (I have a lot to say about that game, but it deserves it's own post.
But the game that's I've been playing the most this weekend is Kingdoms of Amalur and man I've finally got back in the groove. It's scratching all the itches I've been having. I'm enjoying the **** out of it. Exploration, lvling, quests on quests on quests and its beautiful fairy tale colorful. Making progress and having fun.
I'm about to be on the road for the next two weeks so OoT and TF:EW are going get hit real hard. Going be a good few months waiting for NMS, expect some more detailed posts in the coming weeks.

It's been a lovely walk through memory lane and the graphical updates make it match my rose colored glasses better.
Hell I may even fire up the master quest when I'm done.

MasterQuest?! The one that was on the GameCube disc that I had and sold like a fool?!
That'd be cool.
Also, IF you had a *new* Nintendo 3DS, it's even BETTER!! I'm not kidding, I deleted my save file to play it again with 3D on the whole time. 3D AND GYRO?! It's as crazy as cats and dogs living together!!
Also, what is NMS?
And, grinding it out in all games is what you do!! So I'm glad TF:EW and Kingdoms of Amalur are working out for you

Yup, the master quest is included in the 3ds remake just like the GC disc. I have that dics if you're interested.
You know I'm always up for a trade.
NMS = No Man's Sky.
Whoo whoo all aboard the hype train. I got plenty of tickets to spare.

The Zelda: OoT - Cobowikiatron
Yup, I'm quoting myself. A lesson in humility I have learned, yes.carytheone wrote:Thanks but I'm good.Cobotron wrote:If you need tips, help, or general lore with OoT, you just let me know buddy.

So wouldn't you know as soon as I get cocky I get stuck
It really goes to show how soft some of us "hardcore" / "NES hard" gamers have become. I'm so mollycoddled by modern games holding my hand and pointing exactly where I need to go to find the McGuffin, I've stopped paying attention to what the game is trying to tell me. I've decided to not use the internet to get through OoT 3D, but instead turn to my fellow gamers.
So I'm still at Goron City, and after aimlessly wondering around trying to figure out why I could't pick up or activate the bomb flowers it finally dawned on my that I need to play Zelda's lullaby to go see King Beardo.

"Hey kid, wanna see my rocks?"
I thought to myself "sweet, lets go make this rock-eater dance get what ever it is I'm here for (can't remember because there is no quest page to remind me) and move on. I play that funky hyrule elven music, I get a little toe tapping and then another fetch quest... "I want to hear some forest music". Well poop, how can a a guy who stays locked in a room and dances nekked in front of children be so picky. Well good thing I live for fetch quests.

Just slowly step away Link...
No biggie, I've played this game before; I'll go hit my girl Saria up in fairy village town... Aces!

Wow, the 3DS version really does look better
Well, I saved the game after that and called it a night. Fortunately for me the game loads me back at Kokiri Forest. Winning... no. My girl Saria is no where to be found. Talk to the sugar hopped up towns folk on spring break from Santa's sweat shop and they point me at the Lost Woods. Cool - North, West, South, West
#iheartduaneandbrando
Yup, so a bunch of haphazard trial and error I learned how to get to the beginning of the Lost Woods real quick. Still no Saria. I think I may run to Lon Lon Ranch and see about slapping her face on one of these.

Pass it on.
I finally remembered that I could just walk up to the bleak warp zone of no return and trick the game into showing me if I could proceed or not. After that I found this asshole. About 80 times.

Sure, dance now kid; but you're going give me that heart container
So that's where I'm at in Ocarina of Time. I could just open a new tab and type exactly what I want to know, but what's the fun in that? Will I learn anything? So anyone got any tips (and no cheating)?
Until next time, I going take the path on the right, I'm pretty sure this is it!
Spoiler, it wasn't...

I'm confused though, do need help finding the Lost Woods, or traversing them?

I just need to find Saria or do what ever I need to do to get to find her. I'm pretty sure she is somewhere in the lost woods. If that's it, then that's all I need to know.
I know the drill, it's just been a long time since I had to do it. I will just visit every area and talk to everybody until I find where I'm supposed to be.
I can't get to the Lake Hylia without going to Gerudo Valley (which I also cannot get into yet) and jumping in the river. So those places are out. So that limits me to the Hyrule Castle, Goron City, Kokiro Forest or Kakariko Village.

LoZ: OoT - The Non Wikia Play-through Project - Update
Just a quick update on my LoZ: OoT progress. After I found Saria I did what any long time gamer would do, scoured the world for anything new I could do or play my new tunes for.

Oh hot damn, this is my jAmM!
Got me some of that delicious Lon Lon Milk, Epona's song and a piece or two of a heart and cruised up Death Mountain to see about getting a fellow beardo in a better mood.

I also brought him some gas-x
It's been so long I forgot fetch quest begets fetch quest (and I'm also playing Kingdoms of Fetchalur). Anyways, I got me a nice little Hylian bling and started chucking Bomb-ombs like I jumped in a warp tunnel.

Wrong bling, wrong bombs, wrong universe, just wrong wrong wrong
So Death Mountain....
.png/revision/latest?cb=20141126130352)
W - T - F !
Yeah, not cool game. I liked owning a shield I can use. Yeah, that's cool, I'll just put on this heavy metal \m/ shield that I found in a cave. I'm sure TMNT cosplay is going do me a lot of good dealing with those nut spitting jackass Deku Scrubs.

Cowabunga?
I cruise through Death Mountain with only a few stumbles here and there. It took a couple minutes to remember how to open the giant dodongo skull, but I had a bomb of an idea. I get to Dildongo himself and the fool wouldn't eat any of the delicious bombs I so generously brought for him.

Like this, only with the bombs ending up by his taint.
Blew my entire wad of bombs, then jacked around with the bomb flowers for a bit before just loading my game. Hey, I didn't want to spend the time filling up my bag. As before I was playing with no sound and didn't realize Big Willy Style over there was making an inhaling sound.

Who knew?
I didn't, guess it's headphones or GTFO! Cool beans, another heart container and a new tool for exploration
Time to make good use of this shield and go see me some fairy porn!

Equal parts frightening and titillating
After I got done getting my swerve spin on, I caught a ride on ole hooters to the bottom of the mountain and called it a night.

Hey kid, can I sell you a watch?
NO! Because I'm sure you don't take rupees and I'll have to go see a witch for what you want and she'll want me to get her some mushrooms and, and, and...

Let's Talk About Transformers: Earth Wars Man or What I've Really Been Playing
And now for something completely different. Why play just one game on just one system when you can

Like this, except less on the top and more on the bottom
So I've been in the Transformers: Earth Wars beta for about a month and a half now and got the green light to share info on the game.
So here is a brief overview, my thoughts and some screen shots from my team/base.

Loading splash screen
I don't play a lot of "mobile" games. Mostly just 3DS, Vita or mobile ports of old console games. I've been told that that TF:EW is a lot like Clash of Clans and such. It's a pretty straight forward TF themed strategy game. The basic concept of the game is build a base that consists of resource generators, weapons, defensive walls and various utility buildings. You get to layout your base the way you like and as you level up you get access to more space and bigger and better stuff.

A little place I call home
Your team consist of mostly randomly won bots cherry picked form the Transformers universe. They come in different star ratings, where the more stars the better overall your bot will be. A few of the them (Optimus Prime, Jetfire and Ironhide) are always awarded. You do have a random chance to get better versions of these earlier on. You can also have one of each star rating. You'll see a lot of dupes here.

Team collection/info screen

Squad selection screen
Time for battle. There is a story mode, but most of what happens here is random pairings to get ready for the Alliance Wars. The game uses online asynchronous multiplayer. Your team attacks the bases of other users. The bots just stumble around attacking things in what seems to be a random manner. They do have special abilities that can be aimed and the uses are limited. More uses are earned as buildings and weapons are destroyed.

Story Mode

Rando Battle Mode
Alliance Wars are a mix of a progress path like story mode and random matched battle mode. It's alliance vs alliance for overall high scores.

Obviously I'm not going to share a defeat screen
Much to my surprise this game has kept me fairly engaged for over a month. I figured I'd stick with it for about a week and then move on. It combines two of my favorite hobbies with very little demand on my time. I can grind out a few battles, upgrade some buildings in under 5 minutes. The biggest hurdle I've encountered so far are the huge lengths of time it's taking for the higher level upgrades. I'm in the 48 hour stage and it's only increasing. This is where the typical mobile game financial model starts to rear it's ugly head. I can speed up any upgrade or fill in the missing resources at a click of a button, but this comes at a price. The good news is that so far everything can be accomplished with just time, patience and perseverance.
Overall, I'd say Transformers: Earth Wars is a fun game and I've enjoyed my 6 week experience with it. I'm going keep grinding away and I've signed up for the full release. It is going to be hard to start from scratch though
