I remember seeing this pictured at conventions and even overseas collectors posting pics of one. Was this actually released? Was it cancelled? Does anyone have any info on this?
Thanks!

He hasn't came out in either market yet. The best chance at this point is Japanese TFA. IIRC at one of the cons the Hasbro panel pretty much stated we should look to Takara for any remaining figures beyond Rodimus and Ironhide.

And what about Classics/Generations Thundercracker and Masterpiece Thundercracker??
(in the States of course, we already have them in Japan but I hate the paint job - so dark, dull and metallic - hope Hasbro do better!)

I think Hasbro hates Thundercracker.

I was hoping to get a US release MP Thundercracker in a brighter blue than the Japanese one. Like the color of the Robotmasters 'Cracker.

Me too. I was also hoping for the same thing with Classics/Generations Thundercracker. I would consider buying both if the paint job was like that. I already have Henkei Thundercracker but he would have to be sold if Hasbro's version gave him his true colours.

Thanks dude! A Takara release is still very welcome! Better than no release, that 's for sure.

Generations, Animated and Masterpiece... they're all maybes. As much as I'd love to guarantee something, I just don't see it as a clear release. Masterpiece is likely going to go with Rodimus first instead of a seeker repaint. Generations TC is going to ignite a whole can of worms from its release. Then Animated.. the earliest we'd see him is probably 2011 before the TF3 toyline. And even after the movie, I'm not sure if there's going to be space to fit in Thundercracker and his wave partner, Mudbuster Bulkhead.

Your best bet is Takara, which will release the figure soon. Takara Animated figures don't all have a heavy metallic finish, I'm sure their TC will be fine..

I was really hoping for a US release of this figure.Looks like I'll have to import,if it makes it out. This is one of the times I wish Hasbro would put out all the figures Takara develops.Put them in Gereration line I don't care as long as I get them.

Well you know much more about possible new releases than the rest of us but I still would be very surprised if he didn't get released at least in Generations. I do agree that it may take quite a while though....Hope Hasbro just takes the plunge and gives the fans what they want regardless.

Being a self-proclaimed Thundercracker fangirl (he's not as cool as Megatron, though!), I am inclined to agree. I had given up on Hasbro aiding me in completing my Voyager Class TFA "Big Three" seeker set and I pray to the Plastic-Crack Gods to let Takara give me what I require.

It's the only "MUST complete!" OCD issue I have with my collection....I MUST have all three of the "Big Three" in every line I can.

 Pleeeeeze gimme my TFA TC!

 With you all the way on that! I'd add in a Classics/Generations Thundercracker to that as well!
