Bruticus Encore had none, hence we get floppy shoulder when moving his arms.

I dare anyone to read that with the character in mind instead of the joint, and not at least smile.Mykltron wrote:I don't understand the love people seem to have for ratchets. People seem to enjoy the sound and feel of them but I just find, unless it's a soft ratchet, that I can't put the limbs at the exact angle I want (Classics ultra Powerglide's leg spread being a perfect example of ratchets ruining a figure).

This.
Also, I thought this topic was going to be a very different topic.

Same here
I actually love ratchet joints for stability reasons as they lock in place in certain positions, plus as mentioned before, they seem to last a lot longer. On the flipside, ratchets can become stiff and jam up, so there's that.
And I have absolutely no love for the soft ratchets found in Deluxes. I'm scared to death of breaking the tab keeping the arm in a locked position. Look at RiD 2015 Grimlock and you'll see what I mean.

Though, as posted in the pet hates thread, certain types of ratchet joints have their drawbacks.
I'm looking at you Motormaster.

Though the is the drawback of only having a few available ratchet positions, which might not work out well (i'm looking at you, universe powerglide and TFc uranos).
