He was supposed to come with a cannon that could attach to his arms and his lion mode back. Does anybody know what happened to that?

It comes with Rampage instead. Something about evening parts count out.

I see. I'd be really annoyed if I hadn't discovered that his back cannons can be removed and attached to his arms. I spent ages trying to figure out how to make a gun out of the sword handle parts!

Kind of a missed oppotunity, no? Would've been nice if the sword handle comes with some extra connectors to attach it to the arm :-?

I don't think the sword parts even stores anywhere on Leo, do they?

The rectangle bits can attach to the back cannons.

The blaster thing that stores on the bottom of the lion mode doesn't really store very well in robot mode, though. You can split it and put it on the bottom of the handle pieces, but you have to angle them out and it doesn't work very well.
