I've seen others post about this, but I just received my DOTM Leader Ironhide and sure enough, I cannot turn his head. There are many YouTube reviews that all show his head turning, so what gives? Is there something I have to do for it to work without breaking it? Did Hasbro create a running change? What the hell is going on here?

I thought I heard that it only turns with the mask either up or down, don't remember which.

Most of the reviewers have done a modification that allows the head to turn.

Modification? That's news to me. Why don't any of the reviewers tell us how they did it then? I just tried with the mask up or down, and the head still does not move.

you must leave the mask up

It is tight, but it can be turned. I thought I'd break it the first time I tried. I was doing the mod to take off the mouth plate and had to twist the head back and forth to get it off. It almost felt like there was a spot of glue on it.

I finally got the courage and twisted the head. One loud click and the head freely moves now, and the mask easily stays tucked away when pressing the lever and turning the head. I am very pleased!

As much as I love this figure, He's getting some serious paint aps as soon as I get around to it. The cybertronian levis he has on have to go..Down right hideous...

I was thinking about dipping the legs into a black Rit color dye.

but then I didn't want to get rid of the silver & gold high light paint apps.

So i'm gonna leave the legs the way they are.

In 2009 I didn't like the non-black parts on ROTF leader sized Jetfire so I Used Rit Black color dye.

i got mine today and had this too. the head moves with the mask up or down u just have to twist the heck out of it til it hurts your hand( and i can stop my 200 foot pound impact wrench with my hands) it will break loose. somebody should post a video about this issue. you won't break the head unless your a freak.if you are a kid(or a wimp)you should find a man to do it.lol

Yeah, I just gave mine a sudden hard twist. It made a loud snap that might make some folks think they broke it, but it's all good. I'm guessing Hasbro glued the head in this manner to keep it in place for rough play with a younger kid that wants to push the levers a hundred times a minute.

You are correct, it was glued in place. It's to prevent the wires from being destroyed by rough play.

I picked up an extra DOTM Leader Ironhide for $29.16 at Kmart the other night (sale price of $34.99 - 20% off). I made the modification to the head to have it turn and removed the mouth piece. However, now that the mouth piece has been removed, how do you keep the head in place? If you put any pressure on the backside of the head, it pops off the spot where his "neck" connects to his upper torso.

I think they are still no match for the cyber diaper that DOTM ultimate OP gets when he combines with his trailer....

Lol!! I do but I don't want to hurt myself in the process.

And for the others here, I got a Q about the mask. If you were to remove it, how do you get him to speak? I think that's why he has the mask on, it's so that function can work.

Where'd you get the extra 20% from? was this coupon inside the burger king happy meals?
