When and how did you become a Mod/Admin/News Crew?

Welcome to the General Discussion area where just about anything goes! This area is designed to discuss all matters and does not necessarily have to be Transformers related. Please keep topics relevant.

I don't understand why everyone wants it to be a different location all the time.

California is fine with me because it's close by. I would be really happy for Phoenix though since I live there.

As long as I drop a wad of cash on a lot of TFs I'm happy.

I just like variety. The bigger the variety, the more likely it's closer to me than the two extemes of Florida and California. I don't need it in my backyard, but anywhere between the Rocky Mountains and Appalaichan Mountains and I'll probably be there.

It has nothing to do with BotCon, it's about knowing where you live.

I suppose I did, but I was speaking generally of how you mods know more about me than I'd like you to know.
But it'll scare the slag out of me if a guy with an Australian accent shows up at my door and identifies me by my Seibertron username. I'll also become extremely paranoid if I start getting mail from Australia addessed to OptiMagnus10.
This is why I feel I cannot move to Australia. It would just make it that much easier for you to track me down.

Burn wrote:Because I said so. And Robofreak will agree with me, Counterpunch might as well. I know who won't though!

If these fan clubs are to be set up, I still demand compensation. Or maybe I should just shut the slag up and make you a slagging fan club.

Blurrz wrote:But, Burn is an Aussie and would never go to BotCon. And what the heck, what is Burn doing in GD, go back into your HMW cave!

No...Burn does not stay in one place. Burn is everywhere...watching. He has no confinements. He has no limitations. He cannot be avoided.
Like Chuck Norris, except he's not Chuck Norris...or IS he?
Please note: If you think I may be joking, I probably am.

People always want it to be close by to them. Case in point, your post.

But the convention should move. It refreshes the dealer room, is an incentive to travel, and helps to reduce costs by allowing for various means of travel and the competition to host.

It should be in the heartland, where it is [sort of] convenient for all, where there is a [moderately] same distance for most, and you can get the same, if not better space for the convention.

Just my opinion. ;)

So where in the midwest do you live? :-?

The convention needs to hit Chicago, DC, Philly, Dallas and longshot...Seattle.

I suspect Chicago is upcoming myself. I've felt that Philly and DC were on the short list for the past three years. Which is lame because I'll be moving out of driving distance of those by the time they get there.

I'm partial to Chicago for geographical reasons, but it'd be cool to see it in Philly or DC. I'd be tempted to try to make to either of those next year.

I got a gut feeling that we're gonna see it in Chicago or Indianapolis next year though.

You are right, CP. New places attract new faces. When a convention is located year after year in the same location it causes locals to take it for granted and feel entitled to have their place "if they want it". People from the other side of the country who might have a great influence on the event are either not invloved at all, or they have to bust their butts to be part of it. It is good to mix things up a bit.

I would not mind Philadelphia. That would give my family some motivation to join me in my insanity and go visit some family as well. Granted it would have to be a trip since family is located in Pittsburg.

West Coast states are easiest for me due to my location obviously, but I think Phoenix would be a really good location. It's the 5th largest city in the US. The amount of coverage it would be able to get would be amazing and the convention centers out here are massive. The dealer room would be epic.

Funpub is more than welcome to bring Botcon back to Florida whenever they want. As an aside, if I had known Joecon was going to be in Orlando this year, I probably would have driven in for a day.

Burn knows more, but I think it involves fighting him WHILE winning a debate against Shadowman.

Also, you have to eat at least 2 gallons of Vegimite within the course of 4 hours.

She won't attempt. She'll just slaughter without mercy.

It will be slow and brutal.

But yes, I'll probably be completely whipped when I'm married, but I won't care.

EDIT: I still need to find that person first.
