Where to find best information on Japanese only Transformers?

Postby 3.8TransAM » Wed Oct 06, 2010 9:52 am

Can't afford them anymore now sadly, but where is the best resource to arm myself with the knowledge when I can?

Kind of hit or miss here on seibertron from what I try and search for.

Oh yes, english language sites only please

Just arming myself for the future or in case I fall over something.

Looking fir information on the figures themselves, bios, pics and accessories and the like.

I have the Japanese TF series on DVD already.

Thanks

The Unofficial Guide to Japanese and International Transformers by J.E. Alvarez has consistently been an invaluable source of info for me over the years. This thick, coffee-table sized book is packed with photos ( in package and out ) and info for all of those legendary grails from the Diaclone era all the way to the end of G2.

I would study and pore over this book before going to Bot-Con and as a result bagged many of my grails by being able to quickly visually locate the desired items amid that whirling mass of color and confusion that is the dealer room.

It was copyrighted in 2001, but still comes highly recommended if you can find it. ;)

I've seen that book, I guess it appears as good for the Japanese versions as my official Transformers Identification and Price Guide is for the american side.

Going to have to find one.

I like the website as well, though it's hard to digest and the pics are okay at best when ever I go looking for something there.

Any other websites floating around that anyone knows of, with larger pics?

Assuming you are looking for the Takara G1 stuff?

Lists of toys for the following series;

Headmasters

Masterforce

Victory

Zone

Return of Convoy

and lastly,

Operation Combination

Hopefully that should give you a good starting point, looks like you've got some saving up to do!
